Timbren Axle-Less 3500-lb Suspension System for Off-Road Teardrop Trailer
Question:
i am interested in your timbren 3500 lb axles suspension for an off road tear Rv that I am building. I am going to be using Jeep wheels 5x4.5. So I want to know if you sell a kit axle hubs brakes spindles etc for my application? My main concerns are weather or not I need the 4inch lift or a specific offset spindle for the wheels I want to use. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

We offer two Timbren axle-less systems rated for 3500-lbs, part # A35RD545E which has spindles with a 4-inch drop, and part # A35RS545E which would be better for your application since it will not reduce your ground clearance. For off-road use you do not want to use a kit that has drop spindles; this type is better for a ramped trailer where you want a low deck height.
Kit # A35RS545E includes the frame-mount suspension assemblies, E-Z Lube spindles with 4- bolt brake flanges, hub/drums, electric brakes, bearings, races, seals and lug nuts. The hubs will be compatible with your Jeep 5-on-4-1/2 wheels. Do note you need to use ST-type tires rated for use on trailers and not standard passenger car tires. Articles on trailer tires are linked for you.
The Timbren Axle-Less suspension system may require additional support on your trailer. If your trailer does not have a cross member above the spot where you want to install the Timbren system, you may need to reinforce the frame. You can accomplish this three ways. First, you can retrofit the trailer with a cross member. Second, you can build out the trailer frame. Third, you can use standard, 2-inch steel tubing to connect the 2 Timbren suspensions together using the built-in square hole on each unit.
You'll need a trailer brake controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 to generate the signals for the trailer brakes. You'll also need to wire the trailer for lighting and brakes. An article on trailer wiring is linked also. We offer complete lighting kits such as # TLL9RK from Optronics.
