Recommended RV-Approved Hitch Bike Rack for Use on Back of 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

I am looking for a bike rack that would be good on the back of a 5th wheel. 2-inch hitch I am worried about the bikes bouncing all over. The hitch is mounted to the frame.

Hitch-mount bike racks for use in the 2-inch hitch on your 5th wheel are available in both hanging and platform styles, 2-, 3- and 4-bike capacities and in tilting, folding and fixed types. You can click on the included link to see all options and the filters on the page allow you to narrow the results based on your preferences for bike capacity, etc.

For the least potential for motion while travelling I suggest a fixed hanging-style rack like the Swagman Original 4, part # S64400. A fixed rack will tend to exhibit less random motion while you're heading down the road. The Yakima LongHaul # Y02476 that you referenced is also a good choice for you. Check out the videos.

To lock the carrier to your hitch you can use anti-rattle lock # S64027. Please click on the video links for more information.

If you'll be carrying any kids or women's bikes that do not have a horizontal top frame tube (as found on a typical man's bike) you can add an adapter bar to such bike to keep them level on the carrier. Swagman offers their Easy Out # 64005 for this purpose. The bar simply connects between the seat and handlebar posts to provide a level mounting surface to mate with the carrier.

The linked article on 5th wheel bike racks will help you consider your best options for your particular bikes.
