Can Trailer Battery Be Overcharged when Charged from 12 volt Accessory 7-Way Circuit
Question:
What keeps the camper battery from overcharging when using a isolator?

Helpful Expert Reply:
When using a 12 volt trailer accessory wire to charge a trailer battery it would be nearly impossible to overcharge it. The max voltage the battery would ever potentially be would be the same voltage of the 12 volt accessory circuit. Also, these circuits generally don't have much amperage because of the smaller gauge wire used from the vehicle battery back to the trailer battery.
Long story short, you wouldn't have to worry about overcharging the camper battery. If anything you would be more likely to undercharge it since the circuit basically only can do a maintenance charge.
