Question:
Trying to install a 7 pole trailer brake adapter on my 1996 chevy suburban 2500. I have seven wires. Red, black, yellow, brown, blue, green, white. Black is the 12 volt wire and white is the ground. Can u help me with the rest?

Typically the wire colors you referenced for a 7-way are:
Red, left turn and stop
Black, 12 volt power
Yellow, reverse lights
Brown, right turn and stop
Blue, brake controller output
Green, running lights
White, ground
I attached a picture that shows the pins of a 7-way and the colors and functions that get run to it.
Since color codes can sometimes vary you might also verify the functions of the wires with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993.
