Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier with Good Ground Clearance for a 2015 Ford Explorer

Question:

Im looking for a cargo carrier for my 2015 ford explorer that provides enough ground clearance as well as enables me to be able to open the hatchback when loaded with coolers i.e yeti 65 qt. also plan on hauling gasoline filled jugs so I want to make sure I have enough distance from the exhaust. What carrier/carriers would you recommend??? Thanks

For your 2015 Ford Explorer if you have a 2 inch receiver opening I recommend the Swagman Expanse cargo carrier # S68FR. It has a good amount of rise in the shank which will help with ground clearance and also keep the platform up higher than the exhaust. I have linked a video showing this carrier on a 2014 Explorer for you.

For a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening I recommend carrier # 63155 which has a 3 inch rise in the shank for better ground clearance and to keep the platform out of the exhaust path.

Opening the rear hatch should not be a problem depending on how the cargo is loaded.
