Question:
I have a 2011 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagon. I would like to know if the Swagman Trailhead Two 2 Bike 1 1/4 inch Hitch mount when tilted will allow me to open the rear hatch. I have looked at your video and am very impressed but of course does me know good if I cant open the rear hatch when it is installed. Thank you

For the hitches we offer that are designed to fit a 2011 Jetta SportWagen, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the rear bumper is about 5 inches. You will want to make sure any bike carrier you choose has enough clearance. I have attached a help article that explains how to take the measurement.
The Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack, part # S63360 has a distance of 11 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole on the shank to the back of the upright bar on the carrier so you have plenty of clearance from the bumper. When the bike carrier is tilted away from the vehicle you will have plenty of clearance to open your hatch.
This bike carrier has a shank rise of 3 inches and has a weight capacity of 70 lbs or 35 lbs per bike. I have attached a video you can check out.
