You'll need to convert your existing 4-pole to a 7-way trailer connector. How to go about this will depend on how your truck is equipped. Follow the wire from your existing 4-pole, and find the connector it plugs into just behind the bumper. If there's a second connector right next to it, and there's wires leading to the connector, you'll be able to unplug your existing 4-pole and use the # HM11143395 instead. If you were wanting to install a brake controller, you'd need to choose a controller and a wiring adapter. I'd recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885 and the # 3040-P wiring adapter. The wiring adapter would plug into the connector under the dash near the top of the emergency brake pedal, look for the wiring harness with the white tag on it.

If you do NOT have the second connector, or if you do and it doesn't have wires hooked up to it, you'll need to use an adapter, part # 37185 that would plug into the existing 4-pole. the adapter will have four loose wires, a white ground wire that would ground to the frame or chassis, a black wire that carries 12-power for any trailer mounted accessories that might need it and a blue wire that would carry the voltage from the brake controller to the trailer brakes. If you don't need the 12-volt circuit or the brake circuit, you can just bundle those wires up out of the way. The purple wire us usually used for the reverse lamp circuit. You can bundle it out of the way if it's not needed.

If the trailer doesn't have brakes, leave the black and blue wire loose as described above. It it does, you'll need to install a brake controller. You'd use our # ETBC7 brake controller install kit, which includes the # 37185 adapter mentioned above plus all the necessary hardware and wire needed.

I'll link you to some FAQ articles and videos on the installation.
