Process for Lowering Exhaust on 2015 Mazda 3 Sedan to Install Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hello, The instructions mention that for installation the exhaust will have to be lowered. Is there a documented process for doing that on a 2015? I have done car work before but never exhaust work. Also by lowered does it have to be removed completely or does it just hang down

I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and he said you will only need to lower the exhaust if you need additional clearance for installation of Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24912 on your 2015 Mazda 3. If you find you need to lower the exhaust, you will want to do it at the rubber isolators. He recommended spraying a lubricant on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator to help with removal. Other than those recommendations Cequent does not have a documented process for lowering the exhaust.
We have a video that shows the lowering of an exhaust which I have linked to, as well as a a FAQ with several install tips.
