Hitch Pin or Lock to Secure a hitch Cover in a Trailer Hitch Receiver
Question:
I just had a trailer hitch installed on car, its sorta ugly, I found a hitch cover it says it must be secured with a hitch clip , which is not included. there are all kinds of clip things on your site, but Im not clear on how it secures this cover. what should I buy?

A regular hitch pin and clip would work to keep the cover in the hitch. If your trailer hitch is a Class I or II with a 1-1/4 inch wide receiver then you would use pin and clip # PC2. For Class III, IV, and V receivers you would use # PC3.
The other option is to go with a lock. For a Class I or II hitch you could use # e98879. For a Class II, IV, or V you can use # e98881.
A regular pin or a lock will go through the hitch receiver and through the holes on a hitch cover securing the cover in the receiver. Some hitch covers have a couple of wire supports that hold it in a hitch. On some of those you may have to push in on the cover while sticking the pin or lock through so that it will secure the cover in the receiver.
