Will Brake Magnets Or Brake Shoes Wear Out Faster On Nev-R-Adjust Brakes
Question:
Generally, what will wear out first brake magnet or the brake shoe? I have dexteraxle 12X2 never adjust brakes on my trailer. Thanks.

I called my contact at Dexter to ask about the Nev-R-Adjust Electric Brake Assembly like part # 23-459.
They told me that most brake assemblies wear at different rates. With the Nev-R-Adjust brakes he said they will wear very well and that if they were to estimate the rate of wear for either component, you would probably need to replace the magnets every other time you replace the shoes.
They said that is not a hard and fast rule but it is a pretty good estimate. They said you do want to be sure and check all of the components each time so that you do not have any part of the brakes not performing well.
