We offer several choices in a light-duty 1-1/4-Inch Class I trailer hitch for your 2014 Nissan Maxima. All can be seen on the link provided. The one I suggest is the Draw-Tite # 24796. This hitch is my recommendation because it offers the same capacity as the others but has a lower cost, and because it does not require use of a stabilizing strap like some. The linked video illustrates the installation process and two helpful hitch install articles are also included.
A Class I hitch has a 2-bike capacity. With this hitch you can use one of the compatible 2-bike Class I bike racks shown on the link. A popular platform-style rack is Swagman's XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64670. My favorite rack is Thule's EasyFold # TH903202. This excellent bike rack features lightweight aluminum construction (great with a light-duty hitch), included locks for the rack itself and for your bikes, a tilting design for better vehicle access and it is among the few that can handle heavier bikes like electrics. Please refer to the linked video.
I have also included articles that will help you choose a carrier suited to your particular bikes and that will fit nicely at the back of the Maxima.
