Towing Capacity of a 1994 Dodge Diesel  

Question:

I am struggling to find out if the older dually trucks are capable of towing a 13400.fifth wheel.no more than we will camp and our farthest destination is about 500 miles once a year.will the mid to late 90 dually trucks provide the capability of towing this much weight legally.I have a 94 22500n dodge diesel but it shows 10,000 lbs.im sure it has the power but whats the legal end of it

The best way to determine your towing capacity is by contacting your local Dodge dealer and provide them your VIN. They can pull up all the specifications for your truck. I attempted to find an owners manual online but was unsuccessful. Check for sticker inside drivers door frame.

Another way is to find the maximum trailer weight you can tow is by subtracting the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR.) of your truck from the gross combined weight rating (GCWR.) that will give you the maximum gross trailer weight and/or max towing capacity (GTW).

Once you know the maximum towing weight capacity, you will not want to exceed it.
