If your 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 did not come with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector then you will need to add one using # 37185 (provided that the truck came with a factory 4-Way flat trailer connector).

The blue wire that is output to the trailer connector at the back terminates in a connector located under the driver's side wheel well. you would need to splice into that wire using # 12-1-1 (sold by the foot) wire and route it all the way back to the blue wire of # 37185.

For the black wire you would need to run another length of wire to the front of the truck and connect to the positive battery terminal via a 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540. This is the 12 volt circuit for the 7-Way.
