Ball Mount Recommendation with a 6 inch Drop for Use with a Towing Bike Rack
Question:
Have 2005 tundra towing a T@B 1800lb trailor.Need 5 and 1/4 inch drop to pull trailor but would like your swagman bike rack to add to the hitch.By extending the hitch and adding the bike rack then adding the 5 and 1/4 inch for the ball will work but not sure of the length of extension? you sell a 6 inch with a long extension but I would need to add washers to get a 5 and 1/4 inch and not sure of the safety by adding washers. Any thoughts?thanks

The Ball Mount part # D-28 would be your best option sounds like. It is long enough that you could mount a towing bike rack to it like part # S64664 that you are interested in, it also has a 6 inch drop which would be the closest drop ball mount we carry to what you need and would work well for you.
You would not want to add washers to the ball mount, but you could use a high rise ball that has a rise built into it like part # C40033 that is a 2 inch diameter hitch ball with a 1 inch rise built into it.
If you need a 1-7/8 inch diameter hitch ball with a 1 inch rise you would want the part # C40031.
