Replacement Electric Trailer Brakes for Snowmobile Trailer
Question:
I have to replace the brakes on an enclosed snowmobile trailer. The tire size is 205/65/10 Would it necessarily be the 10inch electric brakes? Also, is there any particular brake or product that handles the off season corrosion better?

To determine the correct replacement electric brakes you will need to know the weight capacity of your axle and then measure the inside diameter and width where the pads from the brakes touch. If your axles are 3500 lbs and you get 10 inches by 2-1/4 inches AND the brake mounting flange has a 4 bolt pattern then assembly # 23-469 for the right and # 23-468 for the left will fit.
The best brake assemblies as far as resisting corrosion due to moisture are hydraulic brakes, which are used for boat trailers and specially coated for corrosion resistance. However, since you will not be using your trailer for marine applications the Dexter brakes I recommended will be more than adequate.
