How to Add Electric Drum Brakes to a Trailer
Question:
am trying to place electric brakes on a utility trailer that has never had brakes. I wanted to know if these hubs and bearing that come with them will work on my trailer. I took this information off of the axel: Model date 09 92 SLR IN 3500 lbs max capacity less wheel or rims and tires AL-KO-KOBER I took off the bearings and there are no numbers on them. I do not have calipers to get an exact measurement. I did measure the outer bearing from tip to tip total diameter to be 1 7/8inch I know that is not an exact measurement but do you think these hubs will work on my spindle? Thanks

There are several pieces of information needed to pick out all the components needed to install brakes on a trailer axle. To see an article that covers everything check out the FAQ article I attached that covers everything you will need and will walk you through the process.
Since you couldn't get numbers off of the bearings you will need to use digital or dial calipers to get exact measurements of the spindles where the bearings and seal ride. See attached picture.
