Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2000 Ford Focus Sedan
Question:
I need a hitch and receiver, ball, wiring kit and whatever else is involved in getting a 2000 Ford Focus Sedan ready to move from Texas to Oregon. Can you please help me by letting me know everything I need to be ready to pull a small 4 X 6 or 8 foot rental trailer?

I recommend Draw-Tite Class I Hitch, part # 24692 for your 2000 Ford Focus sedan. It features a no-drill installation and also includes pin and clip. You will need a ball mount and either a 2 inch trailer ball, part # 19258, or an 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19256. You can usually get rental trailers with either size of coupler.
To wire your vehicle for towing, you would use a taillight converter hardwire kit, part # 119178KIT. I have linked you to the installation instructions for the hitch and the wiring.
