Is the Tongue Weight Capacity of Ball Mount BM20 Reduced by 50 Percent Like Other Adapters
Question:
I am considering purchasing this item. The fact that it is extra long raises a question for me. Does using this item reduce the weight capacity of the hitch being used? I refer you to the use of extenders that are available that clearly indicate the use of those items reduce the hitch capacity by 50.

The Brophy Ball Mount, # BM20, does not reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch. The tongue weight capacity of just this ball mount is 1,000 pounds. But you need to stay within the limits of your hitch and, ultimately, your vehicle. Check your owner's manual to find the towing specifications of your 2009 Nissan Murano.
