Tire Chains for Trip to the Mountains in 2008 4WD Honda Pilot
Question:
I live in a FL, and know nothing about snow chains. I will be taking a trip to anaconda mountains in January and the cabin we are renting requires 4wd and snow chains due to a steep driveway with a very sharp curve. Obviously, we may not even need these chains if there is not snow, but need to be prepared just in case. What prouduct would yourecommend? 2 vs 4 tires?

In your owner's manual in the 'tire' section, Honda states that only Class S cable-style tire chains should be used on your Pilot. A class S chain will not extend more than 15mm above or to the inside of the tire, preventing the chain from coming into contact with any braking, suspension or steering components.
Assuming you have 235/70-16 tires on your Pilot, I'd recommend the Glacier Cable Snow Chains # PW2119V.
Since you may have limited need, if at all, I would recommend this economical choice.
Honda states that the cable chains should only be mounted to the front wheels.
The Pewag # PWSXV580 chains you referenced are a fit for your tire size, but because Honda doesn't recommend using chains on your vehicle, only the cable style, I can't recommend you go that route.
