The Durabuilt Ratchet Chain Binder # DU63MR is not going to be rated to be used in compression, you'd instead want to check out the Durabilt Ratchet Chain Binder w/ Compression Spring # DU52MR.
This chain binder has a built in compression spring with a WLL (working load limit) of 9,200 lbs but it realistically the WLL depends on the safe working load limit of the chains you choose. view full answer...

That's a good question, because working load limits (WLL) can be somewhat confusing, but I can explain it for you. The 9,200 lb WLL of the Titan Chain Ratcheting Load Binder for 3/8" - 1/2" Thick Chain # TCRB10 simply means that the binder itself is rated for weights up to 9,200 lbs, but that is separate from the chains.
The number of chains you need is determined by their WLL. For example, if you had an 8,000 lb tractor,. you would need the aforementioned binder, as well as two of the... view full answer...

Yes. I went ahead and reached out to my tech at Brophy, and he said that as long as you are within the weight capacity of the Brophy Stake Pocket Tie-Down Anchor # TL1B, you can use chains/ratchet binders. It is important to note that each tie-down has a working load limit of 4,000 pounds. view full answer...
I was able to speak with my contact at Pewag and get some measurements for the load binders we carry. We have several different options available. First, on the Titan Chain load binder # TCLB10, the minimum reach is 21 inches from one hook to the other measuring from the inside of the hooks so this will be the shortest.
For Pewag Ratcheting Load Binder, # PRLB108, the minimum reach is 24.3 inches. view full answer...

The 3/8 inch chain would not be a problem but the hook could be depending on its size. If you can't run the chain through backwards or there are hooks on both ends of the chains you have then the hook needs to be less than 1-3/8 inches high and 2 inches wide (at any angle that would allow it to slip through the opening on # T355) for this to work. We have some chains but none that are designed for this type of application.
But we do have load binders if you need them. I have included a... view full answer...
I believe you are talking about reducing the thickness of your D-ring tie downs from 1/2 inch to 3/8 inches to use a chain binder like the Durabilt Ratcheting Chain Binder for 3/8" - 1/2" Thick Chains - Multi-Hook # DU23MR. For this purpose, I recommend replacing the old ones with the CargoSmart Recessed D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor - Bolt On - 3/8" x 2-1/8" # 348809. The weight capacity for a single tie-down is 1,667 pounds. Depending on your weight needs, you may need to use multiple D-rings.... view full answer...
Yes, the 3/8" Grab Hook # G7CG-38-YC will grab safely to a 5/16" chain. You see Binders like the Titan Chain Lever Type Load Binder # TCLB8 that have a 3/8" grab hook and safely work with 5/16" chains as well.
The important thing is to remember to not exceed the lowest weight rating of either the chain or the Grab Hook when using components of different thickness or grade. view full answer...

Yes, you could attach the Durabilt Ratchet Chain Binder w/ T-Handle and Chain for 5/16" to 3/8" Chains # DU42MR could be used to attach to cargo and through a d-ring to itself. Since the clevis doesn't come with a clip to prevent it from unlatching you would have to have constant tension on the chain to prevent it from just falling loose. You'd also need to know the capacity of the D-Ring so that you don't overload it and have it break off.
You'd most likely be better off using a safety... view full answer...
Hey David, the take up length on the Durabilt Ratchet Chain Binder with Eye Fittings # DU55MR is 8", the overall length is 22.5", and the collapsed length is 14.5". I went ahead and confirmed with Durabilt to make sure that all these figures were correct as well. view full answer...
