Your main problem is an insufficient ground for the trailer wiring. Try improving the connection of the main ground wire of the trailer wiring harness. Make sure it is attached to a clean metal surface. Or you can run all of the trailer wires back to the main ground. This is actually the ideal solution. Instead, you would want the Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches - 10 cu ft - 100 lbs # Y62VR as it can swing away from the rear of your vehicle and allow complete access to the cargo area which will allow the tailgate to open. Absolutely! A Land Rover Discovery is referred to as the Land Rover LR4 here in North America. First thing you will want to do is use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the stop/turn circuits of the 7-way you have on your vehicle. It sounds like maybe those circuits are shorted out and that is why it seems like the adapter # A75TB isn't working properly. If this is the case you will want to check the conditions of the wiring on the back of the 7-way as well as check for and clean any corrosion you find on the 7-way pins.

I do recommend installing a trailer hitch on your 2016 Land Rover LR4 and using a hitch mounted bike rack because there is more versatility in the types of racks that can be used, plus it's just easier to mess with. There are roof rack options as well as trunk mount racks that use straps to install on your vehicle. They have their times and places but a hitch mount rack is the best option overall.

The only trailer hitch that will fit your 2015 Land Rover LR4 is # 13456. With this hitch you will NOT be able to keep the full size spare under the vehicle. It would have to be carried elsewhere for the hitch to fit.

Since your tires are brand new they will most likely last you a while. I would go with the Thule chains part # TH01571265 that you referenced since they are confirmed as a fit for the 255/55R19.

It sounds like the 7-way on your 2015 Land Rover LR4 is not getting the signal that the trailer is connected at times, which you are correct, is due to the LED lights on your trailer, and the fact that they have such little power draw.
