I looked up the online owners manual for a 2019 Ford Ranger. This shows the fuse for the trailer module is in spot 73 and it will be a 30 amp fuse.
These newer ford trucks have a smart tow feature. So the12v power at the 7 way will only be turned on when the trailer is hooked up, your truck is turned on, the transmission in gear, the brake pedal depressed and the setting through the in dash menu is activated. view full answer...
We do have an easy solution for you to use a cargo carrier and tow at the same time, though you would not be able to put a hitch ball on a cargo carrier because they do not have the strength to tow a trailer.
To carry your extra gear while you go camping what you can use is the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers # D210 which allows you to use a hitch ball to tow and has a receiver on top for a cargo carrier such as the Curt # C18113.

On a flat 4-way connector, the standard function is Green is the right turn signal and brake, Yellow is left turn signal and brake, White is ground, and Brown is the running lights, used when the headlights are on.
You may want to test the wires for function just to be sure. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 for that.
I have attached a photo that shows typical wiring for a 4-way round connector. view full answer...
If you were told your trailer was pre-wired, there would be a mounting plate and plug that would allow you to just connect a plug-in camera system. If that mount and plug is not there, I wouldn't assume the wires are there, though you can still install a Voyager camera system and hardwire it with the following:
- Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System # ASA84YR
This is a camera system that you will hardwire, and I have added a link below to a video review for you to check... view full answer...
Your AC warranty is protected by the by the federal Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act.
This act states, in part, that unless the installation and/or the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided. In the real world though, it's certain that a manufacturer such as Dometic would have more than a few attorneys at their disposal that could make simply replacing an AC unit less expensive than fighting a warranty denial.
All this being said, SoftStart RV states on their website, and... view full answer...
With your 2021 Ford Ranger having a maximum tongue weight rating of 750lbs you will not be able to tow your Dune Sport toy hauler. The 750lb rating is the tongue weight allowed before adding a weight distribution hitch. While the Curt Weight Distribution # C17063 will distribute the weight across your 2021 Ford Ranger you are still exceeding the maximum allowed tongue weight for your receiver. You will need a bigger truck with a receiver rated for at least the 1,000lbs or higher if you... view full answer...
The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-0800 weighs 79 pounds. The weight of the hitch will not be added to weight that you will be towing. It will just maximize the vehicle and hitch capacities, so it will not have an impact on the cargo carrying capacity.
If you have any other questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I would be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors. view full answer...
If your 2021 Ford Ranger has the factory towing package it will have a factory installed trailer hitch receiver, and a 4-way/7-way connector.
If you do not have these components then your truck does not have the factory towing package.
I suggest the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13417, and the Curt T-Connector 7-way Connector, # C56431.

Yes, you should turn off the sway control on your Ford Ranger when using the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU36FR.
Blue Ox has found the two will essentially counteract each other, so disabling the factory sway control will actually give you the best performance. view full answer...
As-is, there is minimal theft deterrent with the Curt Clamp-On 3 Bike Rack # C18013; Other than inconvenience. The rack can be a little cumbersome to break down as there are a couple steps needed and those steps are made more difficult with bikes loaded because you have to use the handle and knob on the crossbar to get the rack to start collapsing again to remove it from the draw bar. With your bikes loaded that will be difficult, but not impossible. Especially if they remove the bikes... view full answer...
The keys that come with the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07204 are not universal and will help prevent theft. On our site alone we have over 50 unique keys for replacement options so it isn't like there are 2-3 different possible keys someone could use to get the rack off.
If you're planning to add the # Y00426 to your 2022 Ford Ranger you will also need the BaseLine Towers # Y28TR and the BaseClip Fit Kit # Y06124. You will be able to add the SKS Lock Cores # Y07204 to... view full answer...
The Westin Back Powder Coat Oval Tube Steps for Ford Ranger, part # 22-5055, have a T-slot that runs the length of the step to allow for flexibility during installation. The two sets of instructions have different illustrations to reflect the multiple sets of mount adapter plates that are supplied with the install kit (but not all parts will be used in any given application). view full answer...

I definitely have the installation instructions for the Curt Front Mount Hitch # C31063 for your 2006 Ford Ranger. I went ahead and attached the pages to this answer. I also confirmed with Curt that this hitch fits a 2006 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4.
Toward the middle of the second page of the instructions, it mentions using the factory tow hooks in the vehicle recovery and winching tips. For that reason, you do not need to remove your factory tow hooks. view full answer...
Your Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller will remain on to store store your settings. The power draw wouldn't be enough to drain the battery unless you were leaving it sitting for months at a time so you really don't need to worry. If you want to cut the power you can just remove the connector in the back of the controller to cut the power.
There are other brake controllers that will shut down the lights the vehicle is turned off, like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR,... view full answer...
I contacted our representative at Bestop to inquire about the Supertop Collapsible Bed Cover, part # B76302. The representative informed me that part # B76302 is weather resistant but is not waterproof. For an item to be waterproof it must be able to keep water sealed out when submersed under water. The material of part # B76302 will resist rain, but there is a chance that water can get in from the seams or zippers of the cover.
Also, if the cover is stretched too much from water puddling... view full answer...
When the tailgate is up and locked on your 2021 Ford Ranger with a 5 foot bed, it will be an absolute chore to open the Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-SWFA30A61.
While the Switchblade isn't impenetrable, it has aluminum panels so it can't be easily punctured, is tightly clamped to the bottom of your bed rails and sits flush with the sides of your rails so it also can't just be opened up or removed. Essentially, when you have the Switchblade # 311-SWFA30A61... view full answer...
The Redarc # RED44FR will only apply the brakes when the brake pedal or manual override is depressed. However, if the emergency braking system engages the brake lights to inform drivers behind you are braking, you could wire the Tow Pro brake signal to the trailer plug brake wire and capture all braking situations.
From what I could find, this is basically what the SST-4000G will do. With this being a pretty new thing though, there wasn't a lot of information I could find about it. view full answer...
The single bar indicates that the gain or output control on the brake controller is turned all the way down. To initially set up the controller, place your foot on the brake pedal and hold the pedal fully down. Adjust the output slider until you see three green bars on the display. Set the sync control to the middle. Do a few test pulls to see how the trailer brakes perform. For more braking, slide the output control to the right, or to the left for more control.
