The Roadmaster MX Base Plates # 1541-5 that are confirmed to fit your 2005 Honda Element does not require you to cut or alter any of the steel frame of your vehicle. The base plates will bolt to the vehicle using existing holes.
The only modification will be needed will be on the bumper fascia to allow the tow arms to connect to the base plates.
For your Blue Ox tow bar, I recommend the Blue Ox Tow Bar to Roadmaster EZ5, MS, and MX Base Plate Adapter Brackets, # BX88185. This adapter... view full answer...
Your 2008 Honda element is set up differently than most vehicles and has a 10 pin connector under the dash to connect the converter to. This connection is essentially a loop circuit that powers the vehicles tow package wiring to the rear spare tire compartment. The converter that is attached to the under dash 10 pin connector is there to protect the vehicles wiring and convert the 5-wire system on the Honda to a 4-wire trailer lighting system.
Once you have the part connected under the... view full answer...
The Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System Item # RM-8700 requires diodes to function properly and to ensure protection for both the towed lighting harness and the vehicle's electrical circuits. If you have bulb/socket lights you need to make sure that it's grounded to the chassis otherwise the Invisibrake will not function.
I've attached some info from the installation guide to help you with wiring in the the Invisibrake. view full answer...
I have good news for you because I can confirm that no type of trimming will have to be done to the bumper or fascia on your 2008 Honda Element in order to install the Curt trailer hitch that fits, which is the following:
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11700
Please note this does NOT fit the SC models of Elements. view full answer...
The white wire with the ring terminal (see photo I edited for you) is indeed a ground wire. It would connect to a factory grounding point under the dash, if available. Otherwise, you can use the included self-tapping screw to attach it to a nearby metal portion of the vehicle body. Before driving the screw in, be sure the area behind it is clear of any wiring that could be damaged. view full answer...
The internal Tireminder sensors part # TM36FR that you referenced do not have replaceable batteries. Basically they last about 5 years with the non-replaceable battery and then would need to be replaced. view full answer...

Check out page 5 of the instructions I attached for the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118336. This is a different brand connector but it does the same thing as the Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 43105 and installs the same way so the instructions will work for you as well.
The instructions I attached show you exactly where the panels are that need to be removed and how to remove them. view full answer...
Normally to install a Thule roof rack on your 2005 Honda Element you'd need the part numbers # TH711420, # TH460R, and # THKIT3109. Since you have bars already you may not need the # TH711420 but if you have the older square bars you will need the new bars as Thule redesigned their crossbars recently and the old style of square bars are not made anymore. view full answer...
You are correct, the instructions, linked for reference, do not specify how you would run the 4-Way from the connection point on your 2004 Honda Element to he out side of the vehicle.
There are a couple of ways you can do this. First, you can stow the 4-Way in the vehicle and then when needed, pull it out of the back door/hatch. You can close the hatch on the wiring as long as it is not pinched in a locking or hinging mechanism. The weather stripping on the rear door will prevent the... view full answer...
The torque specs for the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e78KR which is a fit for your 2010 Honda Element are listed in the attached installation instructions. By stating them in this manner, they are always correct when you see them. For a torque wrench that will reach these figures, you can use the Powerbuilt Dual Drive Torque Wrench part # ALL944001.
Please note if you will be using the trailer hitch to tow a trailer then you will also need a trailer wiring harness, the T-One... view full answer...
The Curt Class I hitch # 11699, for a 2008 Honda Element with single exhaust, does require some widening to enlarge existing access holes on the vehicle. No new holes will have to be drilled. There should be a 7.5 amp fuse that will need to be installed in the fuse box when you install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118336.
You will need to check with your local regulations and laws to determine if you need to have side clearance lights on your trailer before you remove them.
Another option to reduce the amperage draw on your trailer would be to convert the lights on the trailer to LEDs as they draw considerably less than incandescent bulbs. Check out the link I provided... view full answer...

The installation video you referenced shows TowReady Wiring Harness # 118465 in a 2007 model year Honda Element. Please note that this wiring harness is not a specified fit for your 2006 model year; it is a fit for various versions of model years 2007 through 2010.
The specified wiring harnesses for your 2006 Element are both the hard-wire type, not a T-One plug in type. The specified wiring kit for your 2006 Element are # C59236 from Curt.

Yes, you can run the vehicle side trailer connector to the outside of the vehicle if there is a grommet available in the back of the spare tire well. Just make a small slit in the grommet and run the smallest end of the harness through the hole. If you decide to do so you may want to install a mounting bracket to keep the 4-Way connector from dangling behind the vehicle.
I would recommend the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat, item # 18144, along with the No-Drill Mount Bracket, Short, item... view full answer...

The safety cables you referenced are required and actually included with the Blue Ox Base Plate kit part # BX2232, so you would not need to pick them out separately.
Next, you will need a tow bar. For that I would go with the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380 as it is the most popular tow bar we have with other Element owners. These come with safety cables.
For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice... view full answer...
You may have found the wrong connector. It may be difficult to see, but under the access panel, look all the way to the left driver side wall. You will see a gray connector there, but again it may be difficult to see.
We also have a video of a 2007 Element that makes note of the location, but even with our video, it is difficult to see because of the location of the connector. I have added a link to the video below. view full answer...
