  • Comparing the Curt Hitch C13416 and EcoHitch Hitch 306-X7396 for a 2019 Toyota RAV4
  • The main difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13416 and the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH97FR is that the EcoHitch has a completely hidden cross tube whereas the Curt cross tube will be visible from the rear of vehicle which you can see in the attached photo. The other difference between the EcoHitch option and the Curt option is that the EcoHitch has a 5,000 lb towing capacity whereas the Curt only has a 4,000 lb towing capacity but you will still...

  • Class III Trailer Hitch vs. Class II Trailer Hitch for 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
  • You did a great job with your first choice for a trailer hitch on your 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, because etrailer makes the highest-quality trailer hitches so it is the brand I would go with as well over any other. In regards to the Class II Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch -1-1/4" Receiver # 36675 vs. the Class III etrailer Hitch Receiver - 2" # e23ZR, you definitely want to go with the hitch that has a 2" receiver. The reason is that no matter if you are using the hitch for accessories or towing,...

  • Comparing Thule Spare Me 2 and Yakima SpareRide 2 Bike Racks for 2011 Toyota RAV4
  • The Yakima SpareRide 2 Bike Rack part # Y02599 and Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack part # TH963PRO are both great options for a 2011 Toyota RAV4. They both have similar features such as an included locking cables and anti-sway cradles. I recommend the Thule Spare Me because it is made in the USA, is physically lighter at around 15 lbs, and it comes with adapters to fit a wider ranger of applications. They both however are super easy to use but the Thule Spare Me will be easier to get on and...

  • Does Curt RockerBall C94CR Have More Cushion Than Curt RockerBall C40047
  • The 3,500 lb capacity Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C94CR (40246) does not have a softer cushion than the 7,500 lb RockerBall # C40047. The cushioning is the same and the difference between these two is the capacity, of course, as well as the shank size. The RockerBall # C94CR has a 3/4" diameter shank (so that's the size ball mount hole they fit) and the # C40047 has a 1" diameter shank. As for # C40047 and 40247, they are exactly the same. I believe Curt uses different...

  • What Is The Difference Between The Square And Round Tube Curt Hitches For A 2016 Toyota RAV4
  • There are a couple key differences between the round tube Curt # C13149 and the square tube Curt # C13406, but from what I could find out, the maximum towing capacity of a 2016 RAV4 is 1,500 pounds, which will make the tongue weight capacity 150 pounds (this can be lower as well so you will need to check your owner's manual to verify), so it does even the weight rating playing field between the two hitches. Both of these will require trimming to get installed, but more so with the # C13406....

  • Draw-Tite vs Curt hitch for Bike Racks on 2019 Toyota Rav4
  • Great question! First off, your Toyota Rav4 can handle 1 1/4" Class II or 2" Class III hitches. In the Class II category, both hitches are very similar in specs and capacity. The Curt Class II Hitch # C66KR is slightly easier to install than the Draw-Tite Class II # 36675. For your Class III hitches, you have the Draw-Tite # DT82QR and the Curt # C13416 hitches. The main difference is that the Draw-Tite # DT82QR has a HIGHER weight capacity of 675 lbs tongue weight and 4,500 lbs towing...

  • What Is The Difference Between WeatherTech Plate Frame WT63020 And WT61020?
  • The WeatherTech ClearFrame License-Plate Frame - Black # WT63020 includes a Multi-Flex gasket to seal out dirt and moisture and prevent vibration. The WeatherTech Plate Frame - Black # WT61020 does not include this gasket seal. I recommend going with # WT63020 so that there will be less chance of water getting trapped behind your license plate and it will be less noisy.

  • Which is Better For My Vehicles, The Thule Hitching Post Pro or the Reese Eclipse 4?
  • In this case, I recommend going with the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH943XTR, over the DISCONTINUED Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack 63124. The primary reason is the flexibility of the shank itself. The Hitching Post Pro can convert between 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, giving you the ability to use it on the available hitches for both of your vehicles. Additionally, the added Anti-Sway cradles on the Hitching Post Pro allows you to keep your bikes steadier and have less chance of damaging them...

  • Comparing Curt Hitches for a 2017 Toyota RAV4
  • The differences between the between the Curt # C13149 and the Curt # C13406 for your 2017 Toyota RAV4 are that the 13149 has a visible crosstube and is rated for use with a weight distribution system while the 13406 has a concealed crosstube (for a more sleek look) and it isn't rated for use with a weight distribution system. If you plan on towing I recommend using the 13149 but if you just plan on using it for recreational items like a bike rack or cargo carrier then I recommend the 13406...

  • Difference Between Curt and etrailer Hitch for 2022 Toyota RAV4 Limited Hybrid
  • The etrailer # e23ZR and the Curt # C13416 have the exact same design and installation process. The only difference between the two is the powder coat finish. The Curt uses a glossy finish and the etrailer hitch has a matte black powder coat finish. I personally prefer the matte black which gives it more of an OEM appearance. It also does a better job hiding inevitable dirt and dings.

  • Comparing the Thule Spare Me 963, 963XT, 963XTR, and 963PRO Spare Tire Bike Carriers
  • I haven't seen a TSPRO963 but I can tell you that # TH963PRO is the newest version of the Spare Me bike carrier. The 963XTR was the previous generation. The Thule Spare Me Bike Rack, # TH963PRO, went through 4 generations. The 963 was first. This original design excluded some vehicles because of the size of the spare tire or how it was mounted to the car. The issue was resolved with the new mounting plate, # 753-3532, in the 963XT. So from that point on, all the racks would get the new...

  • Draw-Tite or Curt 2 inch Trailer Hitch for a 2020 Toyota RAV4
  • Out of the Draw-Tite # DT82QR and Curt # C13416 trailer hitches for your 2020 Toyota RAV4 I recommend the Curt because we have found that the Curt trailer hitches tend to be easier to install and they have a thicker powder coat so they have more resistance to rusting from scratches and dents that happen as the result of road debris. I have attached an installation video and some photos of this trailer hitch on a '19 RAV4 for you to check out. If you let me know what you plan on using the...

  • Difference Between Swagman XTC-2 and XC 2 Platform Bike Racks
  • While very similar 2-Bike platform racks, the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670 is essentially an upgraded version of the XC 2 # S64650. The Swagman XTC-2 features re-designed and improved wheel cradles that are stronger and constructed with a soft coating to protect your bikes. The cradles will also position the bikes a bit higher up for improved ground clearance with the bikes loaded. The wheel straps have also been improved with a heavier design. This rack will basically do a much better job of...

  • Differences Between the Draw-Tite and Curt Trailer Hitches for a 2020 Toyota RAV4
  • There is a slight bow to the Draw-Tite # DT82QR cross tube where the Curt # C13416 has a straight cross tube. Draw-Tite also has slightly higher weight ratings but since the weight ratings of your 2020 Toyota RAV4 are under both of the trailer hitch ratings that really isn't a factor at all. I recommend going with the Curt because they tend to have better welding and a thicker powder coat which promotes a longer life for the trailer hitch. Attached is an installation video and some pictures...

  • Clearances for Curt and Draw-Tite 2 Hitch Receivers on a 2019 Toyota RAV4
  • When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13416 on a 2019 Toyota RAV4 we found that it measured 5" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear edge of the bumper, and then from the ground to the top inside of the receiver measured 12". When we installed the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # DT82QR on a '19 RAV4 we found that these dimensions were the same so the clearances will be the same either way. Out of both options I recommend the Curt trailer hitch over the Draw-Tite simply because...

  • Trailer Hitch Clearance for 2018 Toyota RAV4
  • The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12108 has a hitch pin hole to outer bumper clearance of 3-1/4 inches so it will be great for bike racks and has a ground clearance of 11-1/2 inches. This hitch also requires the use of a stabilization strap # 18050 for extra stability and safety.

  • Does Trailer Hitch for 2019 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid Require Stabilization Strap?
  • The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT82QR is a confirmed fit for the 2019 Toyota RAV4 all models, as is the similar Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13416. There isn't a safety strap required for this Curt receiver for use with a bike rack or cargo carrier. I checked with the manufacturer to confirm this. Often Curt does require that stabilization strap # 18050 on their smaller hitches and even up to a 2 inch receiver like this one, but when...

  • Swagman XC2 # S64650 VS Swagman XCT2 # S64671
  • They are exactly the same minus one little thing. The Swagman XCT # S64671 has a tilting feature for gaining access to the back of your vehicle when bikes are loaded and the Swagman XC # S64650 does not. I recommend getting the tilting feature as it does come in handy!

  • Swagman XTC2 Versus XC2 Bike Rack Comparison
  • If I had to choose between the two, I would choose the XTC-2, part # S64670. Not only does the XTC2 have rubber straps to better secure the wheels, but the wheel hoops themselves are much stronger and are slightly raised for better ground clearance. The rack includes a threaded hitch pin, but I would also recommend the locking hitch pin, part # S64029. With the addition of two padlocks like part # 131D, your bikes would be secured to the rack.
