For your 2015 Volvo XC70 I would recommend the Curt # 13266 over the Draw-Tite # 75916. These trailer hitches have an almost identical design. Although the Draw-Tite has a higher towing capacity, it looks like both of the hitches exceed the towing capacity of your vehicle so you will be limited by your vehicle. I would double check the owner's manual to make sure.
Both have a concealed cross tube, so you will only see the receiver tube at the back of the vehicle giving it a factory look.... view full answer...
The Thule Gateway Pro, part # TH88VR trunk mount bike carrier is a confirmed fit for your 2011 XC70.

The hitch you would have on your 2004 Volvo XC70 would be a Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch like the # 36297 so you would need the 1-1/4 inch version of the Yakima Holdup, part # Y02445. This rack would work great for you.
Thule racks have been very popular for us so that is why they show up quite a bit in our popular bike rack lists. I attached a review video for the Holdup for you to check out as well. view full answer...
For smaller hitches like the Curt Class II Euro Style Drawbar with 1-7/8" Ball # C45571, the Curt Class I and II 1/2" hitch pin # C21403 would be needed to fit those euro hitches.

There are two different sets of tail lights on a 2013 Volvo XC70, a pair in the quarter panel at chest height and a pair in the lower bumper at knee height. I took a look at all the trailer wiring harnesses for a 2013 Volvo XC70 (Curt T-Connector part # C56386, Tekonsha T-One part # 118774, and Hopkins Plug-In part # HM11143735) and these all show the connectors plugging into the tail lights at chest height (see photo). It sounds like you may somehow have them plugged into the tail lights... view full answer...
The hitch I recommend for your 2005 Volvo XC70 is the Curt part # C12318 that you referenced. This has the highest capacity of all of the hitches we offer for your vehicle and will install easily too.
For trailer wiring the # C59496 is what I recommend as it has the most reliable converter box. For a ball mount you'd then want the part # C45016, pin and clip part # F-4, 2 inch ball part # 19258, or 1-7/8 # 19256. view full answer...
I checked with Thule and the item you selected, Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier, part # TH911XT, is a confirmed fit for your 2007 Volvo XC70.
You will use Fit Dial Setting number 9 when installing the Thule Passage on your Volvo. Also note that you will not be able to use the rear wiper when the rack is attached to the vehicle.
When carrying womens, childrens or odd-shape framed bicycles, I would recommend using the Thule Adapter Bar, part # TH982XT. This adapter bar allows those types of... view full answer...
The Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75916 are made by the same parent company so they are really constructed the same. They are Class lll hitches and have 2 inch receiver openings, and will work well with your XC70. The Hidden Hitch is no longer available.
If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch... view full answer...
Our installers removed the rear cargo liner and routed the wire from one side of the vehicle to the other through the trunk and spare tire area.
The panel you have open in your photo should allow access to the back side of your taillights. There may be a small piece of foam you need to remove and replace when finished. Then you should be able to route the wires down the rear cargo area and to the other side. It would be handy to remove the spare tire and allow access to the grommet needed... view full answer...
Since Yakima was unable to confirm a fit at this time for the 2015.5, I made a call our local Volvo dealer to obtain some information. My contact there states that the factory installed rails on the 2015.5 Volvo XC70 are the same as those on the 2015 model. With that being said, the Yakima Roof Rack, consisting of parts # Y00408, # Y03536, and # Y33TR fit your Volvo.
As always, you will want to check your owner's manual to determine the roof's carrying capacity before loading any cargo... view full answer...
For your 2015 Volvo XC70 you can use Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75916 that you have referenced. It does have a 2 inch receiver opening and a 400 pound tongue weight capacity so it can handle 4 bikes easily. I have linked the installation instructions for you.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and... view full answer...
The Curt Hitch part # 13266 is confirmed to fit your leased 2015 Volvo XC70, this hitch does not require any welding to install. To get an idea of how difficult it would be to install this hitch check out the installation instructions that I attached. You should note that it will be some fascia trimming required to install this hitch, I wouldn't recommend installing a hitch that requires trimming on a leased car. view full answer...
For a j-style kayak carrier for your factory crossbars on your 2005 Volvo XC70, I recommend the Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier # TH834. The Hull-A-Port is a great option because it will fit on your factory crossbars as long as the dimensions of your crossbars measure less than 3-1/8 inches wide and 1-3/8 inches tall. The Hull-A-Port also 2 tie-won straps and 1 set of bow/stern ties to mount your kayak to your vehicle.
As far as a cargo bag recommendation, the available space on your... view full answer...
In virtually all cases a hitch and hitch-mount bike rack are a better option for the vehicle's sake.
The trunk or hatch on a vehicle is not designed to handle the additional weight of a rear-mount bike rack and the loaded bikes. A loaded 3-bike trunk rack could easily weigh 100-lbs. On some vehicles that may not cause concern for the auto maker or the rack maker, but in other cases neither the auto maker nor the maker of aftermarket bike racks will consider certain vehicles to be suitable... view full answer...
If your trailer doesn't have brake lights but does have turn signals, the most likely thing I can think of that may be the issue with the Curt # C56386 is the that the trailer has separate turn and brake lights.
If it does, that would mean it is on a 3-wire system where the turn signals and brake lights are not on the same circuit. If that's the case what you would need is a converter for the trailer, the Curt # C56196 (note this is not compatible with LED lights). view full answer...
The way that we rate installation is by how long it takes from start to finish to install the trailer hitch. For Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75916 we estimated that it will take at least 100 minutes to install it on a 2010 Volvo XC70. This gives it an 10 out of 10 difficulty rating and is on the liberal side meaning that it will probably take longer unless you are an experienced hitch installer.
There is no drilling required but there is fascia trimming required and the rear fascia also... view full answer...
If your 2007 Volvo XC70 has a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver, the hitch-mounted wheelchair carrier I recommend is the Flint Hill Goods 30x50 Cargo Carrier with 48 Inch Long Ramp # FHG77ZR. This carrier will help you easily load your wheelchair with the attached ramp. This carrier has a weight capacity of 500 pounds and is made from a sturdy steel construction. I have attached a review video of this carrier for you.

Some vehicles require a second set of Glass Hatch Hook adapters to mount the Yakima KingJoe Pro 3 # Y02625 but you will NOT need a second set for your 2004 Volvo XC70. However, since it does require the use of the adapters in place of the top straps (one set is included with the rack) then it limits the bike rack to 2 bikes.
For a bike rack that does not have the adapter requirement and that will hold 3 bikes I recommend the Thule Passage # TH911XT. I have included a link to a video review... view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13266 will work great on your 2013 XC70. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening. I have attached a link to an installation video for this hitch you can check out. The distance form the center of the hitch pin hole to the rearmost part of the bumper is 5-3/4 inches.
I recommend the Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack, part # Y02465. This bike carrier has a swing-away feature and also has anti-sway cradles that keep the bikes from banging... view full answer...
The Draw-Tite Class II hitch, part # 36297 installs using existing hardware on the 2006 Volvo XC70. On the driver's side frame rail, the exhaust hanger bracket would be removed and the hitch would install using the two bolts that hold the bracket in place. The hitch mounting flange is sandwiched between the exhaust bracket and the frame. On the passenger side, the 2 bolts that hold the tow hook to the frame are used to attach the hitch. The tow hook is not reinstalled. The nuts needed are... view full answer...
