I was able to find a fit for the 2016 Audi A3 Sportback, in a 1-1/4 hitch size. We offer the Curt # C11399, which is a class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. When using the Curt hitch for non-trailer loads like a bike rack or cargo carrier you will need a stabilization strap like # 18050.

The T-One # 118717 that you referenced is only confirmed to fit a BMW X1 from 2016 - 2017. I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he said that as of yet (September 2018) they haven't been able to get a 2018 X1 in to confirm a fit or not so as of right now the universal kits are what you will need to use for a guaranteed fit.

The 12V feed to the controller should be protected by a fuse or circuit breaker, so there should be no worries about damaging the controller when jump starting or charging the vehicle battery. The Thule universal mounting kit # 7533998 does not lock, it just has tamper-proof hardware meaning you would need the special tools, included with the hardware kit, to remove the carrier from the roof rack. I spoke with a representative of Thule who told me that you would be able to install the Thule Aeroblade Edge # TH711120, # TH710601 and Fit Kit # TH186007 and it will not interfere with the operation of the sunroof on your 2018 BMW X1. They did caution that it is possible when using a cargo carrier or other accessory that clamps onto the rack you may not be able to fully operate the sunroof because the clamps could interfere.

It's an odd fit exclusion, but we do not have hitches available for the versions of the 2015 BMW X1 that do not have the panoramic sunroof. Best option we have would be a trunk mounted bike rack like the Yakima FullBack part # Y02634 which is a confirmed fit and would work well for carrying 2 bikes.
