Yes, that spoiler does appear to be an issue on your 2015 BMW X1. I do not recommend using the Thule OutWay # TH45JV to avoid any damage to the spoiler. There is an option though. I recommend the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack # HRF2. This rack has an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps up and over that spoiler so no weight is put on it (since the spoiler is not meant to support weight).
