I checked the owner's manual and on page 182 saw that the powertrain is not designed for towing and that you should never tow a trailer with your 2014 Ford C-Max. Basically all you do is insert your key into the lock core of the # BL7018447 that you referenced, turn it clockwise as far as it will go, and the lock will then be set to your key. The tumblers of the lock will be set to your key profile so that only your key will open it.
