The Curt multipurpose ball mount # D210 will work for towing the 2008 Toyota Solara on a tow dolly while using the top receiver portion to carry the bikes on a bike rack. The total tongue weight capacity of this ball mount is 750 pounds. The tongue weight of the tow dolly and the bikes/bike rack will not exceed 750 pounds so it will work.
But I have to tell you that only certain bike racks are rated for use at the back of an RV. None of the Thule racks are rated for this. I have included... view full answer...

We do have a hitch that fits your 2008 Toyota Solara with the Curt part # C12110 but the # C11000 does not fit your vehicle. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is about 12-1/4 inches. I attached a picture that shows it's relative location with the rear bumper.
I also attached an install video that shows how it installs on a 2008 Toyota Solara just like yours. view full answer...
There are 5 basic components required to flat tow your 2004 Toyota Solara SLE convertible and those are a tow bar, base plate kit, safety cables, light kit and a supplemental braking system. I would also recommend checking your owners manual to see if a lube pump is needed to flat tow your vehicle.
The tow bar that I recommend is the Roadmaster Sterling # RM-576. This tow bar is compatible with the # 1178-3 base plates that fit your Solara, and it includes safety cables. This is a non-binding... view full answer...
The Thule Gateway Pro trunk mount bike rack # TH88VR will work with your 2006 Toyota Solara Coupe SLE (with a spoiler). To carry women's bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter # TH982XT is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.
The top of the line Thule... view full answer...
The Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Kickstand, part # Y08115 is designed to fit 2x2 inch tubing.
Keep in mind that the trailer that this item is designed for has 200 lb capacity, so it is not designed for heavy duty use. view full answer...
The # 119176KIT hard-wire kit is a universal application, but it would be the correct choice to wire your 2007 Toyota Solara SE for towing. I have linked the installation instructions, but they are not going to be specific to your vehicle.
To install the hard-wire kit on your vehicle, you would use the included circuit tester to test the wires behind your vehicle tail lights for function. I would have a friend sit in the front and press the brake pedal or engage the turn signals as you... view full answer...
We do offer a Tow Ready # 119178KIT that would be compatible with both vehicles, however it isn't a plug an play harness. None of our vendors offer a plug and play wiring option for either of your vehicles.
The installation really isn't too difficult. You would need to access the rear of the taillight assemblies as if you were changing a burned out light bulb. The wiring harness kits include a circuit tester. You'd begin on the driver's side. Ground the tester to the vehicle body, and... view full answer...
Draw-Tite part # 36336 does not include the manufacturer recommended ballmount, part # 36061. The only other pieces you would need are the trailer ball, the pin and clip or lock for securing the ball mount into the receiver and the wiring harness for your 1999 Solara.
You would need to hardwire your vehicle with a wiring harness using part # 119178KIT.
The ball mount recommended for your hitch uses a 3/4 inch ball shank diameter hole, so you will need to select a ball with that size... view full answer...
To determine if you have enough clearance to install you will need to take one measurement. You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin on your hitch out to the furthest point out on the rear of your vehicle. This will tell you what clearance is needed on a bike rack to clear the bumper on your Toyota Solara SLE.
This rack has a distance of 10-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin out to the upright portion of the rack.
If the distance you measure is less than that... view full answer...
Sure, you can order the etrailer Replacement Hardware Kit with part number # RHK and it will include all the hardware it originally came with, and in this case that includes the square spacer/washer, and the fishwire. However, there is not a U-bolt used with this hitch. When you are on the product page just enter the brand and model.
Installation of this hitch will include screwing bolts into existing weld-nuts on the car frame, which can be full of dirt and crime from years of travel.... view full answer...
Yes, the Curt hitch part # C12110 does fit the 2006 Toyota Solara convertible as we had the chance to install it on one and it fit and worked great. view full answer...
You are right on the money with your comparison between a hanging style and platform style bike rack. However, another fallback of a hanging style bike rack is if you have any bikes with an alternative frame like most women's bikes then you will need to use an adapter bar to keep them level which will increase the overall price of your setup. The platform style bike rack will also be able to accept a much larger selection of bikes like those that weigh over 35 lbs.
Therefore, I recommend... view full answer...
The Curt # C12339 is the only hitch that will fit the 2002 Toyota Solara. This 1-1/4" hitch receiver would be perfect for mounting the Curt # C18065 bike rack to take your bikes to the park or on vacation. You might consider hooking up the Detail K2 # K2MMT4X6 utility trailer which is perfect for hauling home a new dishwasher, or bags of mulch, or all the gear for a weekend of camping!
If you do decide to haul a small trailer you will need a 4-pole lighting connector. The Curt # C59236... view full answer...
Yes, the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount Item # TH910XT does have anti-sway cradles. There may have been a much older version that did not and that is why there is conflicting information. But the Passage does for a fact have anti-sway cradles. It is also a fit for your 2002 Toyota Solara Convertible.
If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend adding the bike adapter bar, # 64005, in order to carry the bikes more level. I have included... view full answer...
There a few ways to do this. If your 2007 Toyota Solara has a manual transmission you can use a tow bar ans base plates to tow your vehicle. If your vehicle has the U151E transmission you would need a transmission lube pump to flat tow the vehicle or you could rent a tow dolly, which would hold the front wheels off the ground. You could also rent a 16 foot car hauler trailer. If your vehicle has the U250E transmission you will have to use a tow dolly or trailer to transport the Solara.

For your 2008 Toyota Solara the hitch to use for a bike rack is the Curt hitch part # C12110 which is a confirmed fit. I'd recommend finding one near you with a good reputation and letting them install it.
The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058. We asked our demo and install guys to name their favorite, most easy-to-use bike racks and this one showed up in nearly everyone's top three. Check out the review video... view full answer...
I can help you with the parts needed to install a 7-way on your 2007 Toyota Solara but there isn't a 7-way kit specific to your vehicle. So you'll need to start with a 4-way and then convert to a 7-way. For the 4-way you'll want the part # C59496.
Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way.
If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit... view full answer...
As far as the hitch installation goes, a vehicle as old as yours is bound to have quite a bit of road gunk built up into the weld nuts, which can make getting the bolt started to be a bit of a challenge.
Keep soaking the weld nuts with spray lubricant (we use WD-40) and using a wire brush like # DW00254. If all else fails, you can use a M10 x 1.25 tread tap to chase the threads in the weld nut.
For a wiring harness, I'd recommend the # C59496. The kit includes a circuit tester that will... view full answer...
I recommend using a wired backup camera on your 2008 Toyota Solara, the Hopkins Rear View Camera part # HM60195VA or Rear View Safety Backup Camera System part # RVS-778718N. The main difference is the monitor, the former has a windshield mount monitor and the latter has a rear view mirror mount monitor. The rear view mirror mount monitor takes up much less space so if you have it in the budget, this is what I recommend. view full answer...
