Question:
i purchased a trailer hitch and watched your installation video. I applied brake free to the holes in the frame and wired brushed them but still cannot get the bolts to catchinch a thread. any suggestions? can you tell me which wiring kit I need to purchase from your video? again its for a 04 solara. you guys videos are great by the way! As far as the hitch installation goes, a vehicle as old as yours is bound to have quite a bit of road gunk built up into the weld nuts, which can make getting the bolt started to be a bit of a challenge.
Keep soaking the weld nuts with spray lubricant (we use WD-40) and using a wire brush like # DW00254. If all else fails, you can use a M10 x 1.25 tread tap to chase the threads in the weld nut.
For a wiring harness, I'd recommend the # C59496. The kit includes a circuit tester that will help you which of the vehicle taillight circuits carries which taillight function.
