I took a look at the owner's manual for a 2000 Toyota RAV4, and when you are using the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501 to tow the vehicle, your steering wheel should be unlocked. The manual states on page 181, "The steering lock mechanism is not strong enough to hold the front wheels straight."
I highly recommend contacting your local Toyota dealer for the exact procedure required to flat tow this vehicle as the owner's manual does not outright state what the procedure should be. view full answer...
According to my representative at Kat's Heaters, it is NOT necessary to drain the coolant before installing the # KH11813 engine block cooler. The heater is compatible with the 2.5L engine used in the 2018 RAV4.
I've linked you to a product description video featuring the block heater. view full answer...
Thank you for the kind words and the purchase of the Curt T-Connector # C56434 wiring harness for your 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid!
Functionality-wise and install-wise the Curt T-Connector # C56434 and the Tekonsha T-One # 118801 are the same (so you can reference the linked T-One install). The differences between them are that the T-One has higher amp ratings (5 amp stop/turn and 7.5 amp tail) than the T-Connector (3 amp stop/turn and 6 amp tail) and the T-Ones historically have a more reliable... view full answer...
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT82QR for your 2020 Toyota RAV4 doesn't require being lifted for installation, but it does make it easier. The hex nuts on the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 are 9/16" and while a short socket can do the job, a deep socket will likely be the best solution if available. If you can't get the regular socket to work on the bottom hex nut a crescent wrench will also work. view full answer...
I have looked at the etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # e98864, and according to the installation instructions, the front face of the receiver is nearly flush with the bumper at the furthest rearward point. I've linked you to the installation instructions.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you'll also need the following to complete your towing system:
Trailer wiring harness, part # 118412
Ball mount, part # C45010
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260 or... view full answer...
There are two different capacities at work here. The tow capacity of the vehicle is 3500 lbs, which means that you cannot tow anything heavier than that. The hitch on your vehicle will have a rating, as well. There is probably a rating for towing, and one for use with a weight distribution (W/D) system. The use of a load leveling hitch, or weight distribution (W/D) system can sometimes raise the capacity of a hitch, but you are still limited to the vehicle capacity, 3500 lbs in this case.... view full answer...
According to the instructions (and the linked install video) for the Curt # C13416 Class III hitch, no fascia or bumper trimming is necessary, as you can see in the photo I provided.
If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # C56434, a ball mount like # 2753 and a trailer ball like # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball. view full answer...
While we don't have an install video for the EcoHitch part # 306-X7152 on your 2010 Toyota RAV4 at this time it would have basically the exact same install process as some of the other hitches we carry so you could use one their videos like what is attached to this page as a guide. Trimming of rear bumper would not be needed. view full answer...
The C-slot is simply the part of the anti-sway cage that clips onto the bar at the bottom of the cradles on the Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack # TH963PRO. I went ahead and attached a photo that circles where the cage attached to the bottom of the cradle for your convenience. view full answer...
You will be totally fine. Air pressure will equalize through the entire length of the lines and air bags on your setup. Having one line longer than the other would not cause either of the bags to have different pressure. view full answer...
The sub frame tube is located just forward of the rear suspension. The tube is approximately one inch in diameter.
I have asked the installer that appeared in the video if he could recall how far up toward the front of the vehicle the tube extended, but he could not recall.
There is no one correct method of running that wire to the engine compartment, as long as the wire is kept away from any moving parts such as suspension components and anything hot, like the muffler, exhaust and exhaust... view full answer...
The best route to run wiring from the back to the front of a vehicle, like the T-One # 118578 on your 2018 Toyota RAV4, is to keep it away from moving parts and run it through the frame when possible for best protection. We actually have an installation video of this being done on a 2018 RAV4 for you to check out.
You can mount it in the cargo area if you would like or you can try to find a grommet in the cargo area of your RAV4 and route the 4-Way connector through it so that you can... view full answer...
It sounds like the light on your trailer is either missing a wire or it was only designated for one tail light function. If the light does not look old or damaged, I would guess that it is just a clearance light and should be connected to the running light circuit. If this is the case, it should not function as a brake light as well because it was not designed to do so. The brake lights and tail lights run on different circuits and they were not designed to connect to the same wire on a... view full answer...
The MaxxAir # MA00-04000K is intended for roofs 2-6 inches thick, so it wouldn't work well right out of the box for you. However, this is an extremely common issue that'e easily overcome by using some lumber to built a frame around the inside of the rough opening to increase the roof thickness. The frame also provides a good solid attachment point for the fan's mounting hardware. If you click the provided link, you can see a product description video featuring this fan. view full answer...
Any mechanic should be able to install the Draw-Tite # DT82QR Class III hitch on your 2021 Toyota RAV4 without difficulty in about an hour. I don't have any specific recommendations (other than our own install technicians here at our facility in Wentzville, MO) but if there's a mechanic you use regularly, they should be able to handle the install for you.

There are a couple security features with the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack # Y02633. To start, the nylon straps are reinforced to make them much more difficult to cut, so that makes it a little bit more difficult than just cutting them off quickly and taking the whole rack. The most important feature on this rack is that there is a fully steel reinforced security cable that stores inside the trunk for another layer of security, and would take a great deal of time to try to cut through. Newer vehicles have taillight circuits that can't quite handle the additional amperage draw of trailer wiring like older vehicles had. Also a lot of newer vehicle have the turn signals and brake lights on separate circuits which require converting to the standard trailer wiring configuration of having these circuit combined. So the converter boxes allow the power for the trailer wiring to draw from the vehicle battery and also convert the separate signals to be combined like the Curt trailer... view full answer...
Good question, and the panel you are referring to does get reinstalled on your 2018 Toyota RAV4 when installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98864.
You will trim a small section of it (as shown in the cut out below), and the same push pins and nut that were holding it in will be used to reinstall the panel. So just be a bit careful with the push pins when prying them out and after trimming the small section you can put it back on after the # e98864 in fully installed.
