  • Will the Pulse L Cargo Box Allow Full Access to the Rear Hatch of a 2010 Subaru Tribeca
  • The Pulse L cargo box # TH615 will not come in contact with the rear hatch and radio antenna of your 2010 Subaru Tribeca as long as the measurement from the front cross bar back to the radio antenna or hatch (whichever is closer) is 46-3/8 inches or less. See the diagram to the right. The total length of the cargo box is 76-inches and please ensure you have a minimum crossbar spread of at least 23-5/8 inches in order for it to fit properly. I included a video review for you as well.

  • Is Weight Distribution/Sway Control Needed for 2013 Subaru Tribeca Towing 2500-lb Trailer
  • A weight distribution (and/or sway control) system is worth considering under several conditions. One is if your loaded trailer weight (GTW) is more than 50 percent of your vehicle's weight (GVWR). According to my research your Tribeca has a curb weight of 4214-lbs. With your loaded trailer weight being about 2500-lbs you are right at the point where weight distribution may help trailer and tow vehicle handling. You might refer to the linked article on weight distribution. If you find...

  • Will Saris Traps Fork-Block Bike Carrier Base # SATRK14 Work in Subaru Forester or Subaru Crosstrek
  • In order to determine if the Saris Traps Fork-Block Bike Carrier Base, # SATRK14, will work in a Subaru Forester or Subaru Crosstrek, you will need to take a couple of measurements. I would start by measuring the height and width of your vehicle's cargo area to determine what we have to work with. When it comes to the Saris Traps Fork-Block Bike Carrier Base, # SATRK14, your cargo area will need to be at least 47" wide. If a shorter track is needed, we offer a 35" Triple Track, # SATRK33. To...

  • Compatability of Curt Carrier C18100 and Curt Hitch #13060 on a 2012 Subaru Tribeca
  • The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, part # C13069, is a good fit for your Subaru Tribeca. This hitch comes complete with hardware and requires no welding to install. I measured the distance from the mounting flange to the center of the hitch pin hole and it measures approximately 3-7/8 inches. The 19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier, part # C18100 may be a fit for the hitch depending on the clearance. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front edge of the carrier when folded up...

  • Is It OK To Bend No-Drill Mounting Bracket 18136 To Clear Rear Bumper?
  • Absolutely! It is not uncommon to have to bend the Long No-Drill Mounting Bracket # 18136 to make it where you can mounting a 7-way connector. There is no issue with mounting the bracket vertically and bending it a bit to allow your 7-way connector mounting bracket to fit. I included a video of the # 18136 for you to take a look at.

  • How to Install a 7-Way and Brake Controller on a 2009 Subaru Tribeca
  • I do have options for you to install a 7-way trailer wiring harness and brake controller on your 2009 Subaru Tribeca but we do not offer a kit with all of this included. Instead, you would need to purchase each of the components separately. For starters, you will need a 4-way trailer wiring harness if you do not already have one and for that I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118461 which is a plug and play kit that will not require any...

  • Which Size Thule Motion XT Cargo Box has Least Wind Resistance on a 2011 Subaru Tribeca
  • For the Thule Motion you are correct about the 16 cubic foot models, # TH629706 for black or # TH629707 for silver, would be the best bet to limit wind resistance on your 2011 Subaru Tribeca. Another option is to use the Rightline hatch saddlebag # RL100B90. Since it is at the back of the vehicle it won't add any wind resistance. And yet another option is to install a trailer hitch, # 75716, and then use an enclosed carrier such as the Yakima EXO carrier # Y62YR, or the massive GearSpace...

  • Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin Lock for a Swagman XTC-4 Trailer Hitch Mounted Bike Rack
  • The Swagman XTC-4, # S64665, can use Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin, # S64027. The bike rack has a weld nut inside that is uniquely threaded and will only work with specific Swagman locks. When the locking hitch pin is tightened, it will pull the rack shank tight against the receiver, eliminating rattle. Because of the uniquely threaded weld nut inside, the Anti-Rattle Device and Lock, # SR25219, cannot be used.

  • Brake Controller and Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2009 Subaru Tribeca
  • The closest vehicle to your 2009 Subaru Tribeca we have an install video for is a 2010 Subaru Outback. The process will be very similar so using that video as a guide will help you through the install. The P2 part # 90885 is better than the Primus in a lot of ways. It can mount in several different orientations and has a much more advanced way of sensing deceleration so it will give you better overall braking performance. There are hitches available for your 2009 Subaru Tribeca that are...

  • Can the 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness be Routed Under a 2008 Subaru Tribeca
  • On the 2008 Subaru Tribeca you will either need to stow the 4-Way in the cargo area and pull it out of the rear hatch and shut the hatch on the wiring (the weather stripping will protect it, stay away from the locking mechanism) OR you will have to drill through the bottom of the cargo area if no other options are available. Be sure to seal up the hole after you are finished to keep out fumes and moisture.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2009 Subaru Tribeca Towing a Casita Trailer with Sway Control
  • I believe what you have is friction style sway control. All you will need is a Reese Sway-Control Bracket, # RP26003. This will fit on 2 inch ball mounts. Or, for 1-1/4 inch ball mounts, use # RP26005. If your 2009 Subaru Tribeca has a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver, the recommended ball mount is # AMSC2. If it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver, the recommended ball mount is # C45521. I have included a link to our ball mount FAQ article for you to view.

  • Wiring a 2010 Tribeca for a Trailer Mount Brake Controller or a P2 Brake Controller
  • In order to use a brake controller, including the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller - Proportional - Trailer Mounted, # TK94FR, your 2010 Subaru Tribeca will have to have a 7-Way connector. This will require a 7 and 4 way installation kit # ETBC7, to hardwire a brake controller on the vehicle. This RF Brake Controller is a good investment if you plan on towing the trailer with multiple vehicles (each vehicle would need a 7-Way). Then you could just move the remote from vehicle to vehicle....

  • Can I Use Two Left Hand Electric Brakes On A Single Axle Camper
  • When installing electric brakes onto your single axle camper you can not use 2 left brakes on one axle. You will need one Left # AKEBRK-35L and one Right # AKEBRK-35R. If one set of brake assemblies is on the wrong side of the axle, it will lead to diminished braking performance and premature brake wear. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I will be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors.

  • Recommendation for a Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for 3 Bikes on a 2008 Subaru Tribeca with Spoiler
  • When looking to carry three bikes on your 2008 Subaru Tribeca, I would recommend the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top Carrier for Vehicles with Spoilers, # HRF2-3. I called and spoke with my contact at Hollywood Racks to ensure this model would work well with your vehicle. The price is a little bit higher than what you were looking to spend but it is the most economical way to safely carry your bikes and this is the only trunk mount rack that I would recommend for your vehicle due to it having...

  • Recommended 7-way to 4-way Adapter To Hook Tear Camper To Tow Vehicle
  • We do offer quite a few adapters to go from larger connectors to a 4-way flat connector like what is found on your tear camper. The most common larger connector is the 7-way, so if that is what is on your new vehicle you can use the 7-Way RV to 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47365 to still use your trailer with your new tow vehicle. I included a video of the # HM47365 for you to take a look at.

  • Thule Square Bar Roof Rack for Older Thule Cargo Boxes on a 2008 Subaru Tribeca
  • The brackets in your picture don't look like typical Thule mounting hardware so you must be looking at a much older Thule 600 Touring roof box. If you would like to stick with square crossbars then you need the 53" long Thule SquareBar Crossbars # TH712400 and the Evo Raised Rail # TH710401. These bars have a width of 1-1/4" and a height of 7/8". You can use these dimensions to help you determine if the cargo carrier you are looking at will fit. I couldn't help but notice that the mounting...

  • The Draw-Tite Class III, part # 75716, is confirmed to fit your 2011 Subaru Tribeca. As is the Curt, part # C13069, which is very similar but at a lower price point so I recommend it instead. You also need a ball mount with the appropriate rise or drop you need. I've linked an article to help you determine what you need. As well as a link to our selection of ball mounts that fit the hitch. We also offer a kit, part # 989900, that includes multiple options that may work for you. Finally,...

  • When installing the Curt Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # C13046, on the 2009 Subaru Tribeca the plastic fascia tabs will be located on the lower part of the bumper towards the corners. It will allow the plastic rear fascia to flex enough to allow the hitch to be installed to the bumper beam. I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Curt hitch, but it does not show where the tabs are located.
