  • To install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 you will want to use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers # ETBC7. There is not a custom fit brake controller wiring harness available to install the P3 on your 2016 Mercedes Sprinter. I have attached an installation video of a similar brake controller on a 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for you. The # ETBC7 kit will include all the needed wiring, components, and connectors needed to install the P3...

  • Wiring for 2013 Mercedes Benz Sprinter to Connect to Trailer's 7-Way
  • In order to connect to your trailer's 7 way, you would first need to install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118650. This will plug into the wiring harness behind the tail lights on your 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. From there, you would simply add the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector # 30717, which would allow you to connect to your trailer's 7-way. I have added a link to an install video for you to take a look at which demonstrates the process. If you needed...

  • Which Wheels Should Chains Be Installed on for Dual Rear Wheels on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
  • When installing tire chains on a vehicle with dual wheels, you can install chains on both wheels or either the inside or outside wheel. However you decide to mount the chains, they need to be mounted the same on both sides. If they are only mounted on the outer wheel on one side, they should only be mounted on the outer wheel on the other side. Using chains on both of the dual rear wheels will provide the most traction. I recommend checking the owner's manual of your 2012 Mercedes-Benz...

  • Could the BoatBuckle Cargo Tie Downs # IMF08893 Secure an ATV in a Trailer
  • You could use the BoatBuckle Cargo Tie Downs # IMF08893 to secure an ATV to a trailer. These have more than enough capacity at 833 lbs of capacity per strap. These permanently mount to your trailer with 1 bolt, mounting hardware is included. The buckles are sewn to the strap so there wouldn't be a way to reverse the direction the hooks face.

  • Alternate Hardware to Install Roadmaster RM-1209-131 Anti-Sway Bar on 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
  • I typically do not recommend folks deviate from the manufacturer's installation instructions because all the development, testing and engineering work has been done with a given product installed in a particular manner. I spoke with my contact in the tech services department at Roadmaster, who told me that they haven't had ANY reports of this occurring. Changing to a grade 8 bolt and using a thicker washer would be fine. He's guessing that in this particular instance the bolts started...

  • Recommended Adhesive for the Thule Elite Van XT Bike Rack on a 2014 Sprinter
  • For the Thule Elite Van XT, part # TH302043, Thule recommends Dekalin MS 5, SIKA 252 or Terostat MS937 glue. A 2-way tape can accomplish this, however I recommend going with one of the glues. Finding a 2-way tape that can handle that amount of weight is difficult. Plus, speaking from experience, 2-way tape fails much more than glue (when they are rated for the same weight). The glue is your best bet.

  • How to Adjust Electric Drum Trailer Brakes with Video
  • On electric drum brakes there is a star wheel at the bottoms of the assemblies that you can turn using a flat head screw driver or brake adjusting tool # W80630. Turning the wheel one way will bring the shoes closer in and turning it the other way pushes the shoes out more. You will adjust the brakes using that wheel until there is a slight but constant drag of the shoe pads on the drum. I have included a link to a video and at about the 4:39 mark our installed begins adjusting the brakes.

  • Does Brake Controller Manual Override Get Used with Normal Braking or Emergency Situations
  • The manual override on a brake controller is used independently of the regular braking function. It can be used for emergency situations, which is why it has to be within easy reach of the driver. Or if you have a controller that only applies trailer brakes if it senses movement and need to hold the trailer, such as going up or down hills, the manual override should be used.

  • How to Find Stop Light Circuit in a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter
  • To find the cold side of the stop light circuit on a vehicle like your 2014 2014 Mercedes Sprinter you need to use a circuit tester like the part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires going to the brake switch. You will want to find the circuit that sees 12 volts when the brakes are applied and none when the brakes are released. It SHOULD be a pink wire with a green stripe. It sounds like you may be installing a brake controller so I attached a link to a page on how to install brake controllers...

  • Trouble Locating Cold Side of Stop Light Switch for Brake Controller on 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
  • There are some wires that are hot all of the time which is why we usually try to emphasize that the brake controller, like the Prodigy P3 # 90195, needs to be connected to the cold side of the stop light switch when installing the Kit # ETBC7. Sometimes a vehicle will not have a wire connected to the cold side of the stop light switch which is what you are finding. • Taillight Converter Needed for 2012 Mercedes Sprinter
  • You're going to need a taillight converter. A taillight converter will take three lighting circuits from your Sprinter, the right turn, left turn and brake lamp and combine those into two circuits that the trailer can use, right turn + brake lamp and left turn + brake lamp. I'd recommend the # C59236. You'll also need a length of extra 16 gauge wire which is sold by the foot, part # 16-1-1. You'll need about 16 feet of wire, which is what our installer used in the video I've linked for you.

  • Would Redarc Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D Cause Backfeeding Problem with Vehicle Wiring
  • The Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D that you referenced would not allow amperage or voltage to backfeed onto the vehicle trailer wiring to the point of causing any issues. With DC power it's okay to have more than one power source connected on the same circuit and there won't be any problems. AC power is a different story but that's not something you'd need to worry about.

  • Can Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller be Mounted Backwards
  • The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 that you referenced( and also the P3 # 90195) can be mounted backwards so that the display is facing the front of the vehicle as long as you also mount it upside down for it to work properly in this orientation. With that being said, I don't recommend mounting a brake controller beneath the driver's seat like you mentioned. In addition to not being able to see the display screen to look for current settings or error codes, the manual...
