I have an easy to use trunk mounted bike rack option for your 2001 Lexus RX 300, but no trunk rack is going to allow you to open the rear door with the rack installed.
The Thule OutWay # TH45JV would be your best option.
What makes this rack far superior to the others is the attachment system. It uses2 retractable coated straps to attach to the vehicle rather than 6 nylon straps like other racks. This makes installation quick and easy and the cables also last longer.
The cables store... view full answer...

Sounds like your trailer is overdrawing your tail light circuits and that is why the fuses are getting blown. Having a powered unit does make a big difference for this issue. A powered unit will basically only use the tail light wiring as signal wires and then draws all the power for the trailer tail lights directly from the battery. This protects the delicate tail light wiring and prevents problems like what you are experiencing.
I think your best option at this point would be to install... view full answer...
Your best option for a trailer hitch on your 2002 Lexus RX 300 would be the Draw Tite hitch part # 41541 which is a confirmed fit and has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity. As long as the weight of your carrier and bike weigh less than that combined this would be a great solution. Basically you'd have 130 lbs left over for the weight of a carrier like the etrailer # e98873. This carrier only weighs 58 lbs.
You'll also need to verify that your vehicle has the capacity for this too. view full answer...
The trailer does not need to be physically attached to your vehicle's trailer hitch to properly test its rear signal lights. As long as all the wiring is correct and connected between the tow vehicle and trailer, everything will test just fine without actually attaching the trailer coupler.
In fact, it is better to test the trailer lights with the trailer uncoupled, so you do not experience a false ground. view full answer...
The recommended hardware kit for your 2000 Lexus RX300, part # C59496 includes a power lead wire that must be connected.
This is done so that the trailer does not pull power directly from the vehicle tail light circuits, and instead pulls directly from the battery, preventing an overload on your vehicle wiring.
If any of the trailer lights had a short circuit, the lights on your Lexus would not be damaged.
The installation would go as follows.
First, you will need to access the back... view full answer...
You will not want to connect the power wire for the wiring harness # C59496, to anything other than the battery. The reasons for this are:
The kit has not been tested or rated for anything other than a connection to the battery.
And connecting it to an alternate power source eliminates that level of circuit protection so the vehicle wiring is not as isolated from the trailer wiring as it would be with the battery connection.
Connecting the power wire in any other location would also... view full answer...
Most likely you are fine and the difference in angle is due to the trailer sitting higher on one side than the other. I would still verify that the spring hangers are the same distance apart on both sides of the trailer, and that none of the other trailer components are not worn out.
For the 3-Leaf Spring # e57SR that you referenced the recommended distance between the hangers is 25-3/4 inches view full answer...
For your Lexus RX 300, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch # C13429. This is a a square tube design with gloss black powder coat over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance and prevention. it is an easy to install, bolt on application.
For your vehicle wiring, I recommend starting with the Upgraded Circuit Protected ModuLite with 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit - Includes Tester # 119147KIT. This will give you a 4-way flat connection.... view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Hollywood Racks regarding the Replacement 2 Inch Shank Assembly # HRRTD2 referenced in your question. He confirmed that you will be able to use this on your existing Hollywood Road Runner Bike Rack for 1-1/2 inch receivers in order to allow it to be compatible with 2 inch trailer hitch receivers.
The anti-rattle bolt, anti-rattle lever and thumbscrew are also included in this assembly. view full answer...
If your RX300 has the factory tow package, you can use the Tow Ready # 118245 which will plug into the connector located behind the rear bumper (see linked instructions).
If your RX300 does not have the tow package, the trailer connector will need to be hardwired into the existing wiring use the Tow Ready # C59496. I will include a link to the general installation instructions as well as to an installation overview video.
You will need to access the rear of the taillight assemblies,... view full answer...
For trailer wiring on your 1999 Lexus RX300 you would want the Hopkins # 46255. This is a hardwire kit that will require you to test the different wires going to your tail light wiring with the included circuit tester to complete the install.
I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out also.
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118255 that you referenced is not confirmed to fit your vehicle so I would not recommend it for you. view full answer...
On the Derale Remote Dual Oil Filter Mount Kit, # D15707, it allows you to put your filter in a convenient location for easier oil changes. It is a dual oil filter, so it will give you additional filtration and increased oil capacity, it does not allow you to bypass the oil filter.
I would also recommend the Derale High-Temperature Replacement Hose for Engine Applications - 25' Long, # D15799,and the Derale Stainless Steel Hose Clamps (4 Piece), # D13008. view full answer...
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # 118245 is a plug-in for a 2003 Lexus RX 300 and would only require you to place a 20 amp fuse like shown in the accompanying photo and linked video to the install of this part on an '03 RX 300. Uninstall the connector and see if the light on the dash goes off. If so, try re-installing it by following the same steps as in the video. If the light remains on I recommend having your vehicle looked at by a mechanic to determine the issue... view full answer...
According to my research it looks like your 1999 Lexus RX 300 can tow up to 3,500 lbs but you'll want to verify this with your copy of the owner's manual.
If you don't already have the parts needed for towing I recommend picking up the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13429 as well as the Hopkins Active Tail Light Converter with Install Kit # 46255 for wiring. Then for a ball mount kit you can use the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # EBMK4.
Attached are some videos for you to check out. view full answer...
Tekonsha 4-pole wiring kit # 118245 is the correct OEM replacement harness for the 2003 Lexus RX300 with factory tow package. If you checked the fuse and tested the pins on the 4-pole plug and have no power on any of the 3 circuits I suggest you unplug the harness and test the OEM connector on the vehicle where this part plugs in.
If you have signals there, upstream of the 4-pole harness, then the harness may be bad. If you do not have signals there then there may be an issue within the... view full answer...
As long as the factory crossbars on your RX300 are less than 3 inches wide, the Thule SnowPack Ski and Snow Board Carrier # TH7326 will work great for you.

You would want to use a Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, part # 11858. This product is designed to take a 2 wire system like what is on your Dodge Ram and convert it to operate the tail lights of a trailer that has a 3 wire system.
The # 119178KIT would not work in reverse and would not be the right product for what you are trying to accomplish.
I attached a review video for this product below for you to check out. view full answer...
The 4-Flat Universal Mounting Bracket # 118149 that you referenced would be an excellent bracket to use to secure the 4-way of the Tow Ready Wiring harness part # 118245 to your 2001 Lexus RX300.
What I would recommend you use to secure the wires would be zip ties. You would just want to zip tie the wire harness to the underside of your vehicle avoiding moving parts that could pinch the wire and exhaust components that could melt it. view full answer...
The wiring harness you have, # 118245, is designed for a 2003 Lexus RX 300 that came with the factory tow package. Since the harness is not working that is one indicator that you may not have the factory tow package and would require a different wiring harness.
For a 2003 Lexus RX 300 without the factory tow package use wiring harness # 46255 you have referenced or # C59236. I have included links to the installation instructions for you. view full answer...
