Now in that car it did have a drone inside the vehicle but so did the stock system so it didn't bother me. On a truck though the distance is greater from the cab to the exhaust so it likely would not be as loud in the cab of your 2004 GMC Sierra especially with a side exit, single pipe. Sounds like you are using the Ranch Hitch part # AM3100 to convert a fifth wheel trailer to be towed by a goosneck hitch. This adapter is not cushioned at all. We do have the similar Convert a Ball part # CAB-C5G which is cushioned which would relieve some of the chucking you are experiencing.

If the trailer with hydraulic brakes uses a surge coupler (the coupler pushes in when the vehicle slows to send fluid back to the trailer brakes) then you can use any brake controller you want. But if the trailer with hydraulic brakes has an electric over hydraulic brake actuator then you will need a compatible brake controller.

The main trailer wiring harness is located under the truck bed, usually above the spare tire. There is usually a socket for your trailer connector to plug into, but if you peel back the wire loom you will find a light blue wire further up in the wiring harness that is intended for use for a third brake lamp on a camper shell.

I would recommend the Curt gooseneck hitch kit # C615-632 for your truck, which will work whether you have a 6-1/2 or 8 foot bed on your 2008 GMC Sierra. Please note that if your truck has a 6-1/2 foot bed, you should be using a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter that has an offset to give you enough clearance in tight turns.
