A Revolution or Sidewinder (they are the same. Revolution is the name given to it when it comes OEM on a trailer) can be used in place of a slider hitch even when a Sidewinder is not required. It will provide plenty of clearance and you will not have to get in and out of the truck to slide the hitch back. If the trailer you have can accept a Sidewinder then it is definitely a viable option. The Sidewinder fits on the trailer so a hitch will be needed either way.

You can use bearing protectors on a hub with electric brakes. You have to make sure you are using a double lip seal though because a single lip seal is more likely to blow and allow grease to leak out and get all over the hub and brake components. Also, you have to make sure that you do not use too much grease, even with a double lip seal, because of the same possibility of blowing the seal.

The Demco Recon # DM8550043 and Curt CrossWing # C86JR have quite a few differences that separate the two similar designs. The Recon has an extra 1,000lbs of capacity and comes with a 15-1/2", 17-1/4", or 18" height setting.
