Using spring bars that are rated for a higher capacity can lead to a rigid trailer ride. An over-rated weight rating on your spring bars can even cause bounce leading to traction issues with the trailer.

We've found that approaching a brake controller install on a 2017 Ford Expedition with a factory 4-way is easiest if you just convert the 4-way to a 7-way with the part # ETBC7 since accessing the wiring that is only sometimes present on your vehicle for wiring a brake controller is pretty difficult to find.

Minor corrosion can be addressed with cleaning and coating the pin to prevent further issue but if your pin is bent I suggest you replace it.
As for the useable life of a hitch pin, that cannot be established due to too many variable such as environmental conditions, and use during time frame. To put a definitive length of time toward usability is difficult however, if you have damage in any way, including bending, I would immediately replace before it possibly fails.

Finding information on the Tie Down 46250 was not an easy task as it was discontinued awhile back. From what I could find, it looks like the calipers marked 46250 often times have to change the mounting bracket and rotor/hub in addition to the calipers.
