Expert Answers about Dodge Sprinter

  • Are There SumoSprings That Fit a Four Winds Chateau Citation On Mercedes Benz Sprinter Chassis
  • The Four Winds Chateau Citation is built on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Chassis. I checked with SumoSprings and they don't offer any solutions for this chassis but I do have options from Timbren which are very similar to the SumoSprings. They have the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System part # TMBFSP35 for the front and part # TMBRSP25A for the rear so that is what I recommend using. The Timbrens actually provide more support than the SumoSprings.

  • Clinometer Use for Determining Pitch and Roll to Determine if RV Parking Location is Level
  • The Rampage Clinometer with Compass - Analog # RA791006 will help you detect if you are on level ground or not with your RV, so it will absolutely be a help. It will only detect how level the ground is under your tires and suspension, so there may still be additional leveling needed at your landing gear. One of the best options for that is the Hopkins Electronic LED Smart Level for RVs and Trailers # HM08201 which can give you both the parallel and perpendicular leveling of your RV from...

  • Are SumoSprings Designed to be Taller than Suspension Bumps Stops
  • The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSF-401-54 are intentionally designed to be taller than the bump stops on the suspension of your vehicle. This is so they engage sooner and provide support. Bump stops aren't designed for adding support so much as they are for preventing bottoming out. These will help noticeably with impacts felt from pot holes or sudden impacts.

  • What Do I w/ The Brake Controller Wire When Using the Curt Echo?
  • To use the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller item # C51180 you won't need a brake control wire. If you have already purchased a wiring harness you can cap that wire off and make sure its sealed because you won't need to run it to the cab of your Sprinter. If you still need a wiring harness I recommend the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7L. This kit that pulls power from the 7-way trailer connector instead of wiring...

  • Can Size 225/75-16 Sized Tire Chains be Used for Size 235/85-16 Tires?
  • I found an answer that will work. Unfortunately, the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern # TH01571245 cannot be modified without undermining the integrity/safety of the tire chains to fit a 235/85-16 tire. However, we do sell some tire chains with that size. I recommend the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams # TC2821CAM. The Titan chains involve a manual installation with cam tightening for a tight, secure fit. They are also the great economic option. If you need more than...

  • Replacement Vent For Fan-Tastic Vent Model 4000BT
  • Yes, it looks like your existing Fan-Tastic Fan model 4000BT is a standard 14" wide x 14" long roof vent so the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat part # MA00-05100K would fit the opening for your old vent as long as the roof is 1-1/8" to 6-1/2" thick. I have attached an installation video for your reference. I recommend using the Roof Vent Installation Kit - Sealant, Butyl Tape, Screws - White # 344270KITW which will give you the sealant and screws needed.

  • Trailer Wiring for 2005 Dodge Sprinter
  • A new harness may be the solution, but you may not need to spend money to fix the problem of your turn signals not working with the trailer wiring on your 2005 Dodge Sprinter; what you can do first is a bit of troubleshooting to find out. In order to determine the specific problem, you will need to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the connector on your Sprinter after disconnecting it from your trailer. Check the wiring going into your harness from your taillights to see if...

  • Parts Needed to Add Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack to 2007 Dodge Sprinter
  • We can get you set up with a Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform rack on your 2007 Dodge Sprinter, and there isn't an option to mount the platform directly to your roof, so you'll need to mount the Pioneer to a Rhino-Rack roof rack. So the exact parts you will need to add the Pioneer to your 2007 Sprinter are the following: - Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Roof Tray - 60" Long x 49" Wide # RR35TB - Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbars - Silver # RB1800 or Black # RB1800B-2 - Rhino-Rack RLTF...

  • Vent Cover for Use with Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent VP-543SP
  • When your trailer is moving down the road it is best to have all fan-powered vents closed. Apart from the rain concern the impact of wind at highway speeds might put excessive stress on the vent and/or its lid. You definitely do not want to operate the vent's fan motor while the trailer is moving as it is possible that the motor could be damaged by the force of air interfering with the fan blade's motion. We do offer covers for vents, such as those like # CAM40431 and the others displayed...

  • Can Yakima or Thule Crossbars Fit with Rhino-Rack RT Track System
  • We have confirmed in the past that the Yakima Landing Pad 1 will fit the RT style tracks from Rhino-Rack so you can definitely use a Yakima setup for your application (which I would recommend over Thule even if we knew that Thule would work). You will need to following parts for a whole roof rack setup on your 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500: Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks - # RRRTV208 Landing Pad 1 - # Y00221 (you need 2 of this kit) SkyLine Towers - # Y53TR Same Key System - # Y07204...

  • Will Dodge Sprinter Rear Doors Open Over Cargo Carrier 63153 When Empty
  • The rails on the 63153 cargo carrier are 5-1/2 inches tall, and the raised shank on the carrier lifts the unit up about 2-1/2 inches. At 8 inches taller than the hitch opening, you should not have a problem opening your doors above the empty cargo carrier.

  • Hitch and Wiring Fits for 2004 Dodge Sprinter
  • Both of our primary hitch suppliers, Curt and Draw-Tite, show no vehicle listing for a M-B branded Sprinter for model year 2004. Only a Dodge Sprinter is listed, both 2500-series and 3500-series. You can confirm the correct hitch based on the van's wheelbase and drivetrain. If you click on the "Select Vehicle Style" drop-down menu tool at the top of the linked page you can select your Sprinter's configuration; you will then see the hitches just for that setup. For example, for a 118-inch...

  • Recommended Thule QuickFit Tent For Thule HideAway Awning
  • I do have an option for you but the Medium QuickFit Tent for Thule HideAway Awning part # TH309921 is only compatible with the Thule HideAway awning part TH620002 which is a roof mount awning. Since you have a Thule HideAway Awning Direct Mount like part # TH490011 that measures 8-1/2 feet long. I have confirmed with Thule you will need the Medium QuickFit Tent for Thule HideAway part # TH309920. They currently do not offer a 10 foot tent for the wall mount options.

  • 2006 Dodge Sprinter Trailer Hitch and Spare Tire Compatibility
  • We have two hitch receiver options compatible with your 2006 Dodge Sprinter, however both options do require relocating the spare tire. The compatible hitch receivers are the Curt # 13250 you referenced and the Curt # 14250 which has a higher capacity rating. You may want to consider the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125 which won't allow for trailer towing but will allow for flat towing or use of an accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier.

  • Which Trailer Hitches Fit a 2006 Dodge or Freightliner Sprinter without a Step Bumper
  • There are 5 versions of the 2006 Dodge/Freightliner Sprinter so to determine if there is a hitch that will fit we have to look at which specific model you have. If you have the 118 inch wheelbase, single rear wheel model you can use # 13250 or # 14250 If you have the 140 inch wheelbase, single rear wheel model you can use the same Curt hitches above as well as # 75210 If you have the 140 inch wheelbase, dual rear wheel model you can use # 13265 If you have the 158 inch wheelbase, single...

  • Recommended Awning For A 2006 Dodge Sprinter Van
  • Awnings like the Solera 12V XL Power RV Awning # LCV000334919-362241 aren't really intended for use on the side of a sprinter van but if you could still technically install it on your 2006 Dodge Sprinter. The arms of the awning will need to be bolted into studs and needs to sit on a flat surface so you'll most likely need to do a lot of modification to your van to safely install this. Typically most van owners use the Thule HideAway Awning # TH490011, as it's specifically designed for...

  • Trailer Hitch Rated for 10K Towing for a 2003 Dodge Sprinter with 140 inch Wheelbase and DRW
  • The Curt Class IV Trailer Hitch # 14250 will only fit if your 2003 sprinter has the 140 inch Wheelbase with Single Rear Wheels. Since you have a 140 inch Wheelbase with Dual Rear Wheels the next best option is the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # 13265 which is rated for 6K Towing/600 lbs Tongue but then jumps up to 10K Towing/1K Tongue when used with a weight distribution (WD) system like the Equal-i-zer w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37120ET. Please note that your Sprinter must be rated for...

  • Trailer Hitch for 2006 Dodge Sprinter That Fits Around Spare Tire
  • The spare tire retainer would almost certainly interfere with installing the # 75210, but we do have a hitch that is positioned a bit differently so it would fit perfectly. The Curt # 13250 class III hitch will avoid the spare tire retainer, as shown in the provided photo.

  • Need 2-Bike Carrier for Use on 2006 Itasca Navion Motor Home with Hitch Cargo Carrier
  • Bike racks suitable for use on RVs and motor homes are designed specifically for use on such vehicles because those racks will endure much more vertical and lateral force during normal driving. The longer the distance from the rear axle to the carrier the more sway and bounce the rack will have to tolerate. You can think of the difference in riding comfort from a seat at the front of a bus compared to a rear seat, which has a much bumpier ride. The motor home bike carriers we offer include...
