  • Recommended Class V Trailer Hitch for 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Classic Body
  • I spoke to my contact at Curt about your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Classic. They told me the Curt Class V hitch, part # C15312 is designed to fit your truck if it has the factory cutout bumper. They told me that the cutout is the recessed area on the bumper where the license plate typically goes. this hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening. This hitch should sit right below the bumper and would be just what you are looking for. If you need a ball mount for the hitch I recommend...

  • Will Chrome Trim Applied to Mirror Backs Allow K-Source Custom Towing Mirrors to Be Installed
  • If you are speaking of the chrome trim piece that covers the entire rear of the mirror, the Snap-On Custom Towing Mirror you referred to # KS80800 is purposely designed for a tight fit over the OEM mirror. The added thickness of the trim piece would prevent the Snap-On mirror from being installed. The K-Source Universal Clip-On Mirror, part # KS3891 would be your best option. The mirror features a large 5-1/8 by 7-3/4 inch mirror and ratcheting rubber straps that ensure a tight fit.

  • Will Timbren part# TGMRCK25S fit on a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 3500
  • The difference between the 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 and the 3500 series trucks is the weight capacity. The 3500 is going to have a higher weight capacity than the 2500. I spoke with the engineer at Timbren and he told me that the TImbren part # TGMRCK25S will fit on your 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 3500, because the Timbren springs for the 2500 and 3500 models will install the same way on both truck models. These springs were tested up to 6,000 pounds and work well within those guidelines....

  • Can DeeZee Tailgate Assist and Hopkins Easy Lift be Used Together on a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic
  • The designs of the Hopkins EasyLift, # 74211, and the DeeZee EZ Down Lowering System, # DZ43100 allows these two products to be installed on your 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic without interfering with each other. Our contact at DeeZee stated these two products should work together, however, they have not been tested together so it is not guaranteed. Both products can be installed on the same side of the truck (driver side). I included a link to instructions and a video for you.

  • Frame Differences Between 2007 Silverado Classic 3/4 and 1 Ton Trucks When Choosing Gooseneck Hitch
  • The 1st generation Silverado/Sierra (1999-2006 and 2007 "Classic" model) 3/4 and 1 ton models use the same frame, but the suspension found on the 1 ton 3500 is stronger. In terms of choosing a gooseneck hitch, for the 2007 Classic 2500 (same body style as the 2006), you'd want to use the B&W Turnover Ball, part # BWGNRK1067 that you mentioned. If you don't already have a trailer connector installed in the truck bed, you can install one using part # 41157. I've linked you to install instructions...

  • Extension For Towing a Horse Trailer Behind a 2007 Chevy 3500 With Camper In Bed
  • I have something that may work for you as using a 12" Extension # 3371804015 will reduce your receiver capacity by 1/3rd. So with a maximum trailer weight of 7,500lbs on the receiver you would only be able to tow up to 5,000 with the extension. The Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount # D900 is adjustable and will not reduce your towing capacity. This hitch has a length of 15-3/4" from the center of the receiver pin hole to the center of the hitch ball. This is our longest ball mount...

  • Mounting kits like the Replacement Mounting Brackets and Hardware for Westin 3" Round Nerf Bars # 23-232PK are vehicle and nerf bar specific and must be matched with the appropriate bars, for the appropriate vehicle. That being said, the Replacement Mounting Brackets # 23-232PK mentioned will fit the Westin E-Series Round Nerf Bars # 23-2325 and # 23-2320 for a 2002-2009 Dodge Ram Pickup, and a 2008-2009 Sterling Bullet, and will not work for your Trail FX Nerf Bars. • Using Cushioned Ball Mount with Surge or Hydraulic Trailer Brakes
  • You can certainly use a cushioned ball mount like the Convert-A-Ball # AMSC2HD along with a trailer that is equipped with a surge or hydraulic brake coupler. The dampening action of the cushioned ball mount will not affect how efficiently the surge coupler compresses and actuates the trailer brakes, but it will lessen the jarring felt when the ballmount moves against the hitch pin. I have linked you to our Ball Mount FAQ which will walk you through the process of choosing a ball mount...

  • Will Timbren Springs Keep Leaf Springs from Flattening Out on 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 3/4 Ton
  • The leaf spring stack on the 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 2500HD does not seem to bow very much as it is but with the Timbren springs installed, # TGMRCK25S, it would keep them from flattening out as much as they do now on your truck. The Timbren spring will engage the axle before the spring stack is compressed for a more stable ride. I have linked a video showing installation of this kit for you and a link to our help article on Timbren springs.

  • Adapting a Gooseneck Installed in a 2007 Chevy 2500 Standard Bed to Tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer
  • Since your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado has a standard 8 foot bed, you do not need to use a sliding fifth wheel hitch. Sliding 5th wheel hitches are intended for use with short bed trucks that may need additional clearance for sharp turns. There are several options for towing a 5th wheel trailer with the gooseneck ball currently installed in your truck. The safest, and best option is to replace the pin box on the trailer. It sounds like you have not bought the trailer just yet so you might...

  • Should Adapter with Offset be Used to Tow 5th Wheel with a 2007 Chevy Silverado Short Bed Gooseneck
  • Since you have a short bed I highly recommend using the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216. This will allow you to still utilize your gooseneck hitch and provides you with 7-1/2" of offset that should make it so that you have cab clearance while turning. To make sure that the 7-1/2" of extra room will give you adequate clearance you can use the clearance formula which is: (A + B) - C = Clearance A = Distance from center of fifth wheel hitch jaw (or...
