Expert Answers about Chevrolet Silverado 3500

  • Best Industry Standard Rail Kit for a 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500
  • Thanks for the picture! What you have read is correct and by taking a look at your picture I can confirm that your current rails will not work with the 56001 Reese Quick-Install Out Board Brackets. There is a Reese Kit available with both the 56001 Brackets and the 30153 rails but I have a better solution. I recommend the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC item # C16411-204. These have an identical installation method as the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation...

  • Will Surco 2 Bike Carrier # SP501BR Hold Women's Bike with Larger Frame
  • The rubber straps on the cradles of the Surco 2 Bike Carrier # SP501BR have a little bit of stretch but I wouldn't be able to tell off-hand if it is compatible with the design of your wife's bike frame. It looks like it would be close but even if that part of the bike frame is slightly too large you could remove the water bottle holder (if possible) and I am confident the bike will fit.

  • Why is the Curt Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box - Lippert 1621 - 18,000 lbs Not 12" Wide
  • The Curt Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box part # LC328492 is 11-7/8" wide per Curt. The pin box brackets on the trailer should have an inside to inside width of 12". This leaves about a 1/16" gap on either side which is completely normal. If they made the pin box any wider you'd run into tolerances issues between the brackets and pin box. There won't be a gap between the pin box and bracelets once the hardware is torqued.

  • B&W makes a great hitch and are widely known as the best brand in the towing business. For your 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500's puck system you will want the B&W Companion item # BWRVK3710. This hitch has a 20,000 lbs capacity and will drop down into your pucks for an easy install. The Companion has 1" thick dual jaws that not only provide a secure grip but also help to prevent chucking and jarring. This not only makes towing more comfortable it's also quieter than other 5th wheel hitches....

  • Will Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # RP56001-53 Work with Curt Q24 Hitch # C16245
  • The Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # RP56001-53 is a custom-fit kit for your 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 that requires no drilling into the truck's frame (only the truck bed) since it uses existing holes for its outboard brackets. Outboard brackets make installation easier by giving you better access for your tools; the brackets themselves and the frame mounting points are essentially the same either way so there is no loss of strength. These industry-standard rails are fully compatible...

  • Would Hitch Head from B and W Patriot fit B and W Companion Hitch Base
  • The Companion and Patriot hitches from B and W are similar but they are different enough that they are not interchangeable. So you'd have to go with a new hitch that fits your 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 with the OEM rail kit part # BWRVK3775.

  • What Frame Dimensions Does Super Titan Hitch 38124 Fit
  • If the semi truck had a frame width of approximately 34-1/4 inch to 34-3/4 inch, the Draw-Tite Heavy Duty Receiver Hitch part # 38124 could be welded to it. The vehicle frame width is measured outside to outside. Normally this is installed on cab and chassis style of trucks.

  • Recommended In-Bed 7-Way Connector For A 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500
  • Chevy lists a Curt wire harness (part number 19352640) on their site but has used Pollak as the standard for many years and would be the same size. The Pollak 5th Wheel / Gooseneck T-Connector with 7-Pole # PK11893-11932 is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and should fit the hole without drilling, if it is in fact for a 7-way connector.

  • Is A Sliding Hitch Necessary For A 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500 Hauling A 24' Keystone Cougar
  • With a 6-3/4' bed you would most likely have a decent enough turning radius to tow under normal conditions but if you ever got into a tight spot, like you might when trying to make sharp turns, then a sliding hitch would be needed to prevent the nose of the trailer from hitting the cab of the Silverado. You can measure to see how much of an angle you can get while turning by completing the following steps: Get a plumb-bob and attach to the outermost corner of the trailer's nose. Measure...

  • Compatible Camper Tie-Downs For A 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 DRW Crew Cab With 8ft Bed
  • The Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs # HSAB are a universal fit camper tie-down. They can work with DRW trucks, which is why it showed up in the fitguide as an option for your 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500, but you will want to take some measurements first. Since these hang over the side of the bedrails and angle down there is a chance that the wheel well of a dually will interfere. I've included a dimensional drawing to help you determine if these will fit. If not, then I recommend going...

  • How Much Longer are the K-Source Towing Mirrors Part # KS62135-36G Over Stock Side Mirrors
  • I went out to our warehouse and measured the K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirrors - Electric/Heat w LED Signal part # KS62135-36G for you. I was not able to confirm the distance of extension your factory side mirrors extend to but I can confirm that K-Source towing mirrors extend outward from the point where they attach 8" while retracted and 12" while extended. The mirror's face is 11-1/2" tall x 7" wide which is likely larger than your factory side mirrors. These side mirrors will...

  • Fifth Wheel Rails and Hitch That Looks OEM On 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500HD
  • The aftermarket fifth wheel bed rail system that is the most like the factory puck system is the below bed Reese installation rails. The rails are designed for use with Reese Elite Series and Signature Series 5th wheel hitches. The 4 mounting holes of the rails sit flush with the bed much like the OEM puck system. If you have a 6-1/2 ft bed I recommend installation rails part # RP30868 and Reese Elite Series Pre-Assembled hitch With Slider part # BWRVK3370. If you have the 8 ft bed,...

  • What is the Difference Between the Reese Base Rails Part # RP56001-53 and Part # RP50066-58
  • The Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails part # RP56001-53 is an outboard kit and the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails part # RP50066-58 is an inboard base rail kit. The difference between the two brackets is the position in which the bolts attach. Part # RP56001-53 has a set of longer base rails that allow the bolts to be located outside the frame rail whereas part # RP50066-58 has a shorter set of base rails that require the mounting bolts to be positioned inside the frame rail....

  • We have exactly what you're looking for in regards to the OEM puck system on your 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500! I highly recommend the B&W Companion because it uses 1" thick dual jaws that come together to provide 360 degrees of contact with your king pin along with a dual-cam action lever that makes disconnecting your 5th wheel trailer much easier on uneven terrain than other options. The Companion also has a fully articulating head, polyurethane bushings, and 6 different configurations...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD Truck
  • I can help you find a hitch that will fit your 34 inch outside to outside measurement on your 2016 Chevy 3500 HD. It sounds like you have a Cab and Chassis style Chevy, because of the 34 inch wide outside to outside frame. I have listed the trailer hitches below that will fit your vehicle, but the Reese RP45302 is not one of them. I also included a link on this page to take you directly to the page of the 5 hitches that will fit your vehicle for your convenience. 2 inch receiver opening: Draw-Tite...

  • Can Timbren Kit Also Fit with 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 Air Bags
  • The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRCK25D replace the factory bump stop on a truck, which unfortunately happens to be the same place as the air bag kits so you won't be able to install these together on your 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500. If your truck has the factory upper overload springs then an alternative option for you is the TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade # TLA7200. This installs to the sides of your leaf springs so it will fit with your air bag kit just fine.
