I don't recommend converting a wired home alarm to an RV. The issue is home alarms typically use 120v where you will want the 12v alarm for your RV. I recommend using the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector - 12 Volt - White # AT36681. This allows you to have two power supply options one for backup power and a single ground.
