The 2 options you have for installing a 2" trailer hitch on a 2020 BMW X1 includes the Curt # C13303 and the Draw-Tite # e93KR. The Curt hitch and the etrailer hitch have very similar installed. They are both rated 6 out of 10 for difficulty with a 1 hour estimated install time. I've attached a sample installation video for the Curt hitch that you can check out. They are very similar hitches.
One difference is their finishes. The etrailer # e93KR has a matte black finish and the Curt... view full answer...
The real benefits that you get from the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT # TH92BJ is that it weighs 32 lbs, it is made right here in the USA, and the trays are a little more customizable since they are on their own "tracks".
If you don't mind the extra 15 lbs of the Swagman Chinook # S64683 and you are able to utilize the wheel trays just fine (which typically isn't a problem) then I recommend the Chinook. It is at a lower price point, comes with everything that the Doubletrack does, has the higher... view full answer...
The EcoHitch # 306-X7265 and # EH44FR have one real difference between them. The # EH44FR is designed for vehicles with a backup sensor and the # 306-X7265 is designed for vehicles without a backup sensor. Outside of this and a slight difference in appearance they are the same. You will need to choose the correct hitch based on whether or not your X5 is equipped with the backup sensor. view full answer...
Although the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75600, and the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13077, are both great hitches that both have a 6,000 lb max Gross Trailer Weight and a 600 lb max Tongue Weight, I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 75600.
The reason that I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75600 over the Curt # 13077 is because the Curt hitch requires that you use a stabilization strap, like part # 18050, for any non-trailer loads like bike racks and cargo carriers per the Curt warranty.... view full answer...
The Thule OutWay # TH45JV is the upgraded version of the discontinued Raceway PRO # TH9001PRO and Raceway 9001 2-bike trunk-mount rack. The OutWay has been updated in multiple ways.
They have gone through every aspect of the carrier and made some great improvements to already great racks. The biggest improvement is that they made it even easier to install the rack using only 2 retracting coated cables instead of the 4-6 of the past. It comes with locking mechanisms for both the rack... view full answer...
There are indeed two Stealth Hitches available for your 2022 BMW X1 and though they are mostly the same part, there is a difference between them. Either option will be completely hidden when not in use, but the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # SH55VR will include an additional kit that is needed for towing. The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH77VR only includes a receiver for a bike rack or cargo carrier. However, the towing kit # 391CONVC5 can be added on at a later... view full answer...
Any time you purchase an OEM part from the dealer/factory, products are typically more expensive than going with an aftermarket item. If the harness available is a plug in harness, that is a benefit verses having a hardwired kit such as part # C59496 where the wires are spliced in. If you are looking for a more reasonable price to wire the vehicle, then an aftermarket hardwire kit would be the best option.
The vehicle will function properly with both wiring harness, but at this time we... view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13316 is a great option for a 2014 BMW X3. The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver part # SH27VR is another great option as well. The main difference between the two comes down to appearance. The Curt hitch has a fixed receiver so this will always be visible below the bumper whereas the Stealth has a hidden receiver which can be removed while not in use. There's an obvious price difference between the two, most of which is contributed to the hidden... view full answer...
The Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack part # Y02634 and the FullBack 3 Bike Rack part # Y02633 are both fits for your BMW.
Both Yakima FullBacks are loaded with features and include integrated bike and rack locks, which provides improved security. They both have 35lb per bike capacities but the FullBack 3 is limited to a total capcity of 90 pounds.
I've included a video review of the FullBacks for you to see how they work. Remember, you can carry 2 bikes on the 3-bike rack so if you think... view full answer...
Comparing Yakima and Thule is really like comparing Nike and Adidas. When it comes to the Thule Gateway # TH88VR and the Yakima FullBack # Y02634. These are both great bike racks that include a cable lock integrated into the rack, so your bikes are secured to the rack at all times. view full answer...
I would be happy to help you and answer your questions. I read that review and checked with Draw-Tite it looks like that problem is an isolated incident. It sounds like there was either a manufacturer defect or more likely an error made during installation that would have caused the receiver to angle downwards. I have attached a picture of this hitch receiver installed on a 2020 BMW X5. This is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2" receiver and is designed to hide the crosstube so all you... view full answer...
The ModuLite Ultra Protector Wiring Harness part # 119192 is missing a few parts when compared to the Upgraded Heavy Duty ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT. The latter kit comes with a fuse holder, circuit tester, and 4-way trailer connector whereas the other does not.
For your 2015 BMW X3 I highly recommend the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT as you will need the circuit tester and this harness doesn't require splicing. view full answer...
The difference between the Modulite Power Converter 5-Way Flat part # 119177KIT and the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT is that the ZCI kit has clamp on sensors that receive signal from the tail light wires without actually splicing into them whereas the Modulite kit will need to physically splice into the wires in order to receive a signal from the tail lights. The ZCI kit also has a 4-way trailer connector and the Modulite has a 5-way trailer connector. However,... view full answer...
We can offer you several options in trunk-mount 2- and 3-bike carriers for your 2015 BMW X1. The linked page will show you all of them and you can use the filters on the page to narrow the results shown to those carriers with the features you prefer.
Since security is important to you, you can select carriers that include locks for the rack itself and for your loaded bikes. Their outstanding OutWay 3 # TH56BV includes locks for the rack and bikes but it also features Thule's most advanced... view full answer...
Both the Draw-Tite # 76226 and the Curt # C13316 are fits for the 2015 BMW X3. Both hitches are pretty much on par as far as quality goes. The Draw-Tite does have a higher tongue weight and towing capacity as you mentioned, but you'd be limited to the 3500/350 lb rating of the vehicle, so the difference in capacity is pretty much a moot point, as the capacity of the vehicle will always take precedence. Neither hitch would damage anything as long as the vehicle's weight capacity is observed.

The Yakima Fullback, part # Y02634 is a great rack that is a confirmed fit for 2014 BMW 3 Series. It also includes locks to secure your rack and your bikes. Check out the review video that I attached for you. view full answer...
For your 2014 BMW X5 the two 4-pole wiring kits you referenced, hard-wire kit # C59236 and the ZCI no-splice kit # 119250KIT, both will provide the same basic lighting signals for a trailer but they differ a lot in price and in the nature of their installation.
The ZCI kit is ideal for those with a leased vehicle that cannot be modified, for those that simply have no interest in cutting into the wires of their premium vehicle and for those that may soon change cars and wish to avoid having... view full answer...

The fact that the ball mount was a little loose in the previous Curt hitch you had was more a product of manufacturing tolerances than it was an indication that the Curt hitch was lacking in quality in some way.
Both the inside dimension of the receiver tube and the outside dimension of the ball mount's shank are manufactured so that they fall into a given range or tolerance. The receiver tube will always be a bit larger than 2 inches square, while the ball mount or accessories' shank... view full answer...
Both the Passage # TH910XT and the GateWay # TH45JV are excellent bike racks for you to use with your 2018 BMW 3 Series. They share a lot of the same features like bike and rack locks, adjustable arms, and the FitDial system for easy adjustments. I do recommend going with the OutWay though as the 2 retractable cables, Road dampening technology, and extra padding gives it an advantage over the Passage XT. The OutWay is more experience but it is much easier to use.
