From the web site confirming correct trailer hitch, to "How To" videos, very smooth process. Delivery was really quick. Had my friend help out, he didn't see the videos and got the mounting plate "stuck" inside the channel, but I was able to rescue it and then get the hitch mounted correctly. Friend was really impressed with the manufacturing and how well it was designed. Also got the Wiring Harness (ignore the Toyota First Aid Kit in the Wiring Picture) and installed just in case I will need to use a trailer with lighting on it. Currently will use the hitch to transport bikes.

I purchased a CURT Trailer Hitch 13284 Trailer Hitch about a year ago for my Mazda CX-9, and I have been extremely pleased with the results.
Excellent product and easy to install! I decided not to wait for my wife to get home, but lifted the hitch on some 2x scrap I had. I didn't realize you supplied the pull wires, but they helped immensely!
The completed hitch doesn't stick out beyond the bumper! Nice!!!

Still happy! It just works. Thousands of trouble free miles pulling my Sooner.
I put it by myself on my 17 cx9. Great product, sturdy, tough and nice looking. Easy to install and after a year it is still properly attached and no issues. I use it only to hold bike racks and never on real hitching. Nevertheless, great product!
etrailer is the place to shop because their products are top notch quality and they ship fast! Installation of Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class III - 2" on my 2019 Mazda CX9 was super simple thanks to etrailer's step by step instructional videos.
I was very please with how easy this bolted on. The instructions would have been enough but there was a video online that showed how to install making it an easy project. An extra set of hands or two would help bolting on the hitch, but after that,one person is all you need. The hitch reciever feels well made and this item was delivered promptly and price was unbeatable. The company has great customer service. I highly recommend!

Calls for 2 man installation, I did it myself with a floor jack and jack stands. Raised the back a few inches, then lowered the exhaust onto a jack stand, maybe 4-6 inches. Then used another hydraulic jack to hold Hitch in place while I secured nuts. Probably easier than using a lift.
This trailer hitch fit great with our 2016 Mazda CX-9.

Worked well, no rust no flaws
After a year of use, So far so good. I like that it came with the right hardware to do the install. You definitely need a second person to install.
Great instructions and simple installat ion.
Fits just as shown easy 1 hour install. Would highly recommended this to anything looking to install a hitch
Installation was a breeze, I took my time and still was done in less than an hour! With the wire supplied for fishing the bolts through it was so easy my kids could have installed it!!
Tracking was great. New exactly where it was in the process and shipped out the same day I ordered. Received quickly. Was able to install myself without too much trouble.

Perfect fit. One person installation with awesome hardware and the best ‘fish’ wire for each bolt. Directions are clear, Video guide super helpful and, best of all, the CX9 Signature “hands free” tailgate opener works with no issues. Finally, these guys at etrailer are on it. Ordered the phone with Joshua K, who offered advice on best options for the CX9 Signature, and the rest of the team packed and handed it off to UPS the same afternoon. I may have gotten lucky with UPS with a two day (not five) arrival.
I purchased and installed primarily for a carryall for luggage. But recently purchased a utility trailer and it works great! Second hitch receiver I purchased for both of my vehicles. Buick Enclave and a 2020 Mazda CX-9.
In my opinion etrailer has very little room for improvement. This is my first purchase, it couldn't have gone any smoother. My representative answered all my questions prior to ordering. The installation videos are great.

Perfect
BE PREPARED This is definitely not an easy, straightforward installation. Pictures on direction sheets are useless, and the text isn’t much better. After 2 hours and a lot of cursing, the hitch is on. Fortunately, I won’t be towing anything, as it’s only for a bike rack. I can’t even fathom trying to mess with wiring up lights!!!
The hitch itself seems solid, it’s just not an easy install.
Live and learn... I will never buy another hitch and attempt installing myself. Car will come from the dealer already installed!!!
Took Auto F/X approximately 1 hour to install the hitch. Looks great on our 2021 Mazda CX-9.
The trailer hitch arrived on time which was a great start. To build upon the start, the packaging was adequate to protect contents. Directions provided were similar to those found online, which was very helpful. Supplementing the paper directions was the video tailored for the same vehicle as mine (Mazda CX-9). I highly recommend this trailer hitch!! Install took 40 minutes.
Tips for other 2018 CX-9 owners (1) the plastic piece in the first step (which the video doesn't cover) has a pinch style clip holding the piece in place once the 10mm bolts are removed. (2) lower the exhaust by only about 4 to 6" max and then when installing the hitch it can be tested on the lowered exhaust, making it much easier to start the nuts on the bolts (3) use lubricant on the exhaust rubber mounts but use sparingly. I used enough to make the removal easy by hand but yet not so lubricated that replacement was so slick as to slide off once mounted while trying to replace another mount.
I didn't take a picture since there was nothing to add beyond the video and paper directions. Hope this helps someone!
The Curt hitch arrived in excellent condition. The installation took about an hour and needed an extra set of hands to help get the hitch raised into place and the nuts on the bolts. The video instructions from etrailer were excellent and complete.
With this hitch you get a 2" hitch for less than the dealer installed 1-1/4" hitch.
Also the shipment from etrailer was fast. Good follow up customer service as well.

Still working Great! Used it for a Bike Rack, no issues. Have relocated to Tennessee and will be using it to tow a small trailer for hauling items.
