Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this 72 inch long by 1 1/2 inch wide stainless steel piano hinge. Now, this hinge will provide sturdy, continuous support along the length of your cabinet, your door, or your panel. This is great for oversized doors, trailer doors, and entrance doors. And it'll provide more support than multiple small hinges.
It is a nice continuous design, so it reduces stress on the hinge when used with heavier doors. Just want to zoom in and show you the hinge itself. This will rotate 270 degrees for full opening and closing motion. So, you can see this will actually, one side will rotate about 90 degrees back. And if you go all the way forward, it'll go 180 degrees that way.
So, the total of 270 degrees of rotation on the hinge. Now, this hinge is a durable stainless steel construction that will resist corrosion. Does have a 2B mill finish, which gives the metal a nice bright shine. And this is a weld-on or bolt-on installation. Now, if you do bolt it on, it will require drilling holes into the hinge.
And this hinge can be cut to the specific size you need for your application. This part is made in the USA. I do wanna give you the overall length of this, so we're gonna measure it with a tape measure. So, if we go from one end, all the way to the other end, it's right at 72 inches or six feet in length. The open width, which is the position it's in right now, the widest part, so that's gonna be right at 1 1/2 inches for the open width.
The knuckle length, each one of these little sections here is called a knuckle, so the length on just one of those is right at a half an inch. And the pin diameter, in other words, the large pin that goes through those knuckles that hold these two pieces together, the diameter on that pin is 1/8 of an inch. Very impressed with the quality this hinge. I had to repair my FlipBak tonneau cover. This hinge will provide superior security over the original piece of rubber that those tonneau covers use as a hinge.

I am using this as a vertical door hinge for my shed. It is working perfectly. The heavy shed door no longer sags. The hinge operates smoothly. It was probably overkill but I don't like having to fix things more than once.

3 stars, due to packaging. Ordered 3 inch by 72 inch piano hinge. Packaging tube arrived without hinge, cap on end was missing.Went to post office to see if they seen it and they did. Brought it home and is in working condition.

used cobalt drill bit drilled 4 holes in hinge on corners with paper to keep door space for future paint ,drilled holes in hinge only just touch wood ,undid 4 screws ,recessed wood with bur thing ,punched stainless hinge into wood, screwed in screws near flush ,very clean super price and strong ,thank you

Very well constructed as we needed a heavy duty weld on hinge and this was the only hinge in the market to meet our application.
