The TruXport is an economically priced choice for protecting your truck bed, installing easily in minutes and cutting gas costs with an aerodynamic design that reduces tailgate drag.
TruXport installs with rails along the top of your truck bed walls, held in place by clamps - three per side. A front and rear header hold the cover assembly in place; Velcro strips along the rails secure the cover; and weather seals on all four sides help to keep dust, rain and snow out of your truck bed.
The TruXport features a dual-latching mechanism that secures the tonneau cover at your tailgate. This mechanism includes a built-in tension control that automatically sets the tension of your tonneau cover when the rear header is snapped into place. This ensures that you never need to manually adjust the tension of the cover. The latches can be released one at a time, so you don't need a partner - or a giant wing span - to open the cover.
A pair of security straps holds the tonneau in place behind the cab when it is rolled up, allowing full access to the truck bed. The rear header and crossmembers roll up with the cover to form a compact roll. The cover unrolls and latches in seconds, forming a secure rear cargo area when used in conjunction with a locked tailgate. TruXport cannot be released unless the tailgate is opened first.
The TruXport offers a smooth appearance on your truck bed with no arched bows. The tonneau cover rails sit only 1-1/2" above your truck's bed rails.

Video Transcript for TruXedo TruXport Tonneau Cover Installation - 2004 Dodge Dakota
Today on our 2004 Dodge Dakota, we'll be installing part number TX262101 the truck's port tonneau cover from Truxedo. We'll take the two siderails and we'll need to apply the weather seal here on the corner plug, here at the front corner. After doing that, we'll set them in the place on the bedside, where we can then attach our front cover assembly. You wanna make sure that the corner plug slides into the cover assembly like so. We'll now put the clamps loosely over our rail. You'll notice the clamps have teeth.
These teeth will fit here into the siderails matching the teeth on the siderails.Now, with all the clamps loosely installed, we'll center the cover with the truck. We'll need to make sure we get them as close to the cab on the bed as possible. We can go ahead and snug them down. We can now go ahead and start on rolling our tonneau cover. This will help to keep the rails even while we tighten them down.
Here in the center of the bed, we'll take another set of clamps and attach them to the siderails. We'll then snug them down. You also wanna make sure as you unroll the tonneau cover, the cross bars do not interfere with the clamps. We'll continue unrolling our tonneau cover til we reach the back here. Now here at the tailgate, we'll need to install our weather seal again on the corner plug - you'll find this on the tonneau cover itself.
With the weather seals attached, we'll now slip it in and lock it down.It will require some force because it pulls the cover tight giving the cover a better look. We'll make sure that the hook and loop straps stay attached on the bedsides. You'll notice also here on the tailgate, the weather stripping which will seal the tonneau cover to the tailgate. Now, to release our tonneau cover, we'll open the tailgate and right here on the corners, we'll pull the latch assembly on either side to release the tonneau cover top. We can then roll it back up toward the cab of the truck and secure it with the hook and loop straps.
Now, you wanna go back and retighten all your clamps just to make sure the weather seal is sealing against the bed of the truck. And with that, our tonneau cover is on which will complete the installation of the truck's port tonneau cover from Truxedo on our 2004 Dodge Dakota. .

Great tonneau cover! This is my second Truxedo cover (new truck). The installation did not take long, and the instructions are complete, well written, and easy to understand. On this install I did have problems with the cover material not being aligned properly with the front header strip as it came from the factory. But thanks to Etrailer's Q&A section I was able to find the answer of how to correct this and it worked perfectly. The cover is easy to roll up and easy to deploy. Highly recommended. The photos show the cover on a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD.

Perfect fit and easy installation except no mention of the tie down straps mounting. I did have to add 1/2 inch weather strip on the front of my truck bed do to the bed rail caps. Looks great

This tonneau cover was supposed to arrive April 2,2024; however, it showed up at our door on March 27, 2024. What great service! These people really know how to keep a customer happy. The product was exactly what we ordered and was super easy to install. I definitely will order from them again in the very near future. Works well on truck. This style cover is not ideal for a box mounted cab head board. Over all great product.

I love this cover! It adds to the look of my truck while keeping my cargo protected. It also increases fuel efficiency by blocking air from going into the bed of the truck while I'm driving. Super easy to install/open and close.

Does the job. Just installed a few days ago, on 2020 Chevy Silverado RST, but already have peace of mind that it'll protect from the rain/weather. It took about 15 minutes to install and only needed the 1/2" socket wrench. Very easy and affordable.

When I had trouble with the vinyl cover shrinkage and corners not fitting properly, they without question replaced the vinyl top. However, the replacement did the same thing. The gradual shrinkage caused the rounded corners to crawl up over the corner brackets which looks weird and hard to get the back latch bar down to lock cause of the excess tension of the vinyl due to shrinkage. The quality of the frame work is good however!

I was looking for a roll up cover for my truck to have the flexibility of security and be able to haul something large if needed. I did a lot of research and was impressed with the TruXport cover because of the ease of installation and the price.
I was also pleased with the level of service. There were follow up emails from etrailer letting me know the product shipped, the estimated delivery date and reference numbers if I had questions. When the cover arrived I installed it in about 40 minutes including unpacking and checking all of the parts. So far I like the way the cover looks and am very happy with the purchase.

After one year still works and looks great. Installation was quick and easy. From Florida sun to 8" of snow out west, cover kept everything clean and dry. For me I just wish there was a way to partially open it.

So far so good. Customer service and product tracking provided by etrailer is outstanding and their website is easy to navigate. The TruXport roll up cover installed in about an hour but I had to clean out the bed first and was particular about centering and clamp placement.

This is my third Truxedo by Truxport on 3 different trucks. Historically Truxport fully supports their products and keeps improving their design. This Tonneau is easy to install with their clamp system, roll up, and latch down with their Velcro and dual rear latch system. The tonneau material easily withstand the strong sun and Wyoming winter weather keeping items in the bed protected and dry.

Very nice cover for the price. The cover is a very heavy material, what is not shown or discusses is that there are cross bars underneath that keep the cover from drooping. It attached very easily with the hardware provided; three clamps for each side - tighten with a 1/2" socket, an adjustable wrench would work as well. There is a weather strip under each of the side rails as well as the head rail. It rolls out easily and closing in place is very easy. I installed this on a 2005 Ford Ranger, probably about 45 mins start to finish, and all cleaned up. I've only just installed it but I'd say it's worth the money; certainly makes the truck look good. As for etrailer.com, good, friendly, and efficient service. I will also check them out for other items I might need in the future for the Ranger.

Install was pretty easy and straightforward. Cover looks nice and works as expected. I have an F350 with an 8’ bed. Great cover for the price.
