  I checked with Thule (manufacturer of Sportrack), and to install the SportRack Horizon Rooftop Cargo Box # SR7016 you'd need to have to have a roof rack similar to part # MPG216 installed on the roof rails as well since the factory bars are not compatible with this box. I attached a picture of this rack installed on a RAV4 just like yours.

Only roof boxes that use U-bolts as attachment hardware can be used on the factory crossbars of your vehicle. The reason for this is that the crossbars on your vehicle sit so close to the roof of the vehicle that the claw style attachment hardware that Yakima and Thule boxes have would make contact with the roof so they would not be a fit.
