Video Transcript for Valterra RV Sewer - Waste Valves - T68C Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Valterra Rotating Heel Inlet Waste Valve. This waste valve fitting allows you to get both your black water tank and grey water tank piping to one outlet. There's going to be two valves on this system, one for the black water side and one for the grey water side. It's going to feature a 3" Bladex valve and a 1.5" Bladex valve. The unit's made from a durable AVS plastic construction. This connection point right here is 1.5" spigot that would fit into a hub fitting.

The outer diameter on that is going to measure about 1 7/8" to 1 15/16". This area right here is a 3" hub which would accept a 3" standard pipe. The inner diameter for that connection point is right on 3.5". The unit's going to come with the appropriate seals already installed to ensure leak-proof performance. There's going to be a couple seals located in each valve system. The valves are designed to rotate all the way around.

Each one's going to be able to rotate. That way you can position the handles in a location that works best for your application. This right here, this is your bayonet style hub fitting. It's going to feature a 4 pin design. This will accept standard 3" bayonet style fittings with either a 4 hook or 2 hook design. The cap is tethered to the unit, so you don't have to worry about misplacing that or losing it.

THat's also going to have a seal in there as well, to ensure a leak-proof connection, or leak-proof performance. The valves are very easy to operate. They've got the easy to use T handle, that opens and closes the valve, really nice, seamless design there. Another helpful thing is the valve for the black water tank is black. When it comes to the color of the T handle, and the valve handle for the grey water tank is grey. That's always a visual reminder of which is which.

That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra Rotating Heel Inlet Waste Valve.

While I had my RV professionally checked out Spring 2018, when I went on the first trip I found they never checked my valves. Luckily I could get them open and back shut with a large pair of Channellocks, a huge screwdriver, and a hammer.
After that I found a replacement on eTrailers, and at a reasonable cost, tried to fix it myself.
I did a video and a few photos. After a trip to the RV repair shop and getting some ABS, and The Tractor store for a rubber piece, all was well. I poured some canola oil in first thing to lube the rubber and occasionally after as a maintenance item on fresh tanks.
In Florida this winter, not one problem.
only unexpected things, was the small port was a size bigger than the original, same as the outside diameter of the grey tank, so a little idea on my part made it simple to fab

has been flawless, and even though I am in storage a lot, I am glad it works when go out.

Valve works really well! The only issues with draining is with my gray tank, and it was because I slightly have the angles wrong.

But the valve seals quite well after a year of use- the system has been used probably 20 times with the camping we've done since completing the renovations on a '71 vintage camper.

See what our Experts say about this Valterra RV Waste Valves

  • Are Valterra And LaSalle Bristol RV Waste Gate Valves Interchangeable
In my experience Valterra has been MUCH easier to get in contact with and get parts from than LaSalle Bristol. Dometic is the parent company for Valterra and typically has pretty good customer service every time I've called them. It's a bit of a wait on the phone usually, but LaSalle Bristol typically doesn't get back to me unless I email them. That being said both companies model their gate valves (Valterra # T1003VP) (LaSalle Bristol # 34439240) to fit standard dimensions, so they are...

  • Recommended Replacement RV Waste Valves And Trailer Door Latch
Thank you for the pictures! Based on the pictures you provided of your broken RV Sewer Valve I recommend the Double RV Waste Valves # T68C which has the same heel inlet as your broken valve. You will also need Valterra ABS Solvent Cement # A05-0303 to secure the new Waste Valves to prevent leaking. For a replacement trailer door latch we offer a 6" hook or 10" hook option. I recommend measuring the distance between the door latch and the latch on the trailer to see the shortest option...

  • Is There a Difference Between the Valterra Double RV Waste Valves and Bristol Double RV Waste Valves
The Double RV Waste Valves # T68C and the Bristol Double RV Waste Valves # 34466ND17AAR are both going to serve the same purpose. The only real difference between the two is where they are manufactured. The Bristol Double RV Waste Valves # 34466ND17AAR is made in the USA and the Double RV Waste Valves # T68C is not. If being made in the USA means something to you, then you should go with the Bristol Double RV Waste Valves # 34466ND17AAR. Otherwise, you will be perfectly fine using the...

  • What Is the Difference Between the Double RV Waste Valve T68 & T68C
Hey Lance great question, but the main difference between the Double RV Waste Valves # T68 and the Double RV Waste Valves # T68C is that # T68 has a 3" hub and a 1 1/2" hub, and # T68C has a 3" hub and a 1 1/2" spigot. Other than that, they are the same.
