12-5/8" Wide x 2-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep, dual-pass, tube-fin heat exchanger improves the longevity and overall functioning of your vehicle's power steering system. High quality copper tubing with aluminum fins.

Features:

  • Cuts back on heat-related pump failures
  • Extends the life of both pump and seal
  • Designed with copper tubing expanded into aluminum fins for maximum heat transfer
    • Copper is the best material for conducting the heat out of the fluid while aluminum is ideal for transferring and dissipating that heat
  • Provides protection during installation with extruded plastic fin guards
  • Includes rubber hose with stainless steel clamps and all necessary mounting hardware
  • Made in USA

Specs:

  • Inlets: 11/32" hose barb
  • Overall dimensions: 12-5/8" wide x 2-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep
  • Core length: 10"
  • Distance between inlets: 1-1/4"
  • 1-Year warranty

Perhaps the simplest type of heat exchanger, the tube-fin effectively cools a variety of automotive systems. The concept is simple: Fluid cools as it travels through the core by transferring heat out to the fins. The fins then provide the surface area necessary for sufficient heat exchange to take place, allowing the heat pulled from the fluid to dissipate into the surrounding air. Quick, easy and effective.

So far so good. Just installed the cooler a couple days ago getting ready for a move trailing a full load for 1000mi.
Install guide and descriptions are very generic and therefore require a bit forethought and pre-work.
Will see how the product will hold up in the long run.
Shipping and transactions with etrailer have been excellent once again.

The product has been working fine and just as expected. Have not had any issues since the big haul last year.Definitely recommend this product for anyone in need of.

So far so good. Installed on a 2011 Honda Odyssey. Primary challenge was using the exsisting hard line/ flex line points on the OEM system. Best bet is to remove the passenger headlight assy.
My install looked great, then the light wouldn't fit back in. On second try I used more line to allow the bulk to loop further into the van's body and not behind the light. Works like a champ.
If I were to do it again, I would likely use a tube cutting kit and plumb this inline with the factory hard line instead of trying to reach the OEM connection points.

Transmission Cooler was as advertised and the how-to video made for an easy install on our 2006 Honda Pilot. Highly recommend etrailer.com for all your towing needs!

by:

Everything you need is in the box, good product quality (paint and material finish condition), easy to install.

With only two mounting points, this cooler rocked a bit and could potentially touch the radiator fins on my vehicle. I used some additional foam along the top and bottom edges to ensure it was securely mounted and to avoid hard contact with the radiator.

by:

It fit well, works as advertised and the price was competitive.

how do i install it

Before installing you will need to determine the best location on your vehicle to install this power steering cooler. The optimal location is between the vehicle grille and the AC condenser core. You will then need to identify the low pressure side of the power steering pump, and install the cooler in-line. After you have installed the power steering pump you will need to top of with additional fluid, and start the vehicle and rotate the steering wheel several times (while in park) to bleed the system and distribute the fluid, and add fluid as needed. The full installation instructions are linked on the right hand side of the product page for your reference. We have not had the opportunity to do an installation video of a power steering cooler.

  • Power Steering Recommendations for a 2006 Chevy Impala with a 3.9 liter Engine
The choice of power steering cooler for your 2006 Chevy Impala will depend on the amount of room you will have to mount the heat exchanger on your vehicle. The power steering cooler will be installed inline with the power steering pump and the heat exchanger will need to be located in a position where it can get airflow to help cool the fluid. For your vehicle, I would recommend either the Derale 2-Pass Power Steering Cooler, # D13200, that you referenced which allows the fluid to pass...

  • Transmission and Power Steering Coolers for a 2006 Honda Pilot
When you see Class ratings for coolers it is supposed to match the Class of hitch. But you do not have to go by that since transmission fluid cannot be cooled too much. Because of this we recommend going with the largest cooler that will fit the available space in the engine compartment. For a transmission fluid cooler, the most popular option for the 2006 Honda Pilot is # D13503. This is rated as a Class III. To be at its most efficient the best place to mount it is directly behind the...

For your 2002 Ford F-250 with 6.8L V10 engine the most popular transmission cooler option is the Derale Class III model # D13503 which installs with Radiator Adapter kit # D13025. This cooler measures 11 x 8-3/4 x 7/8-inches and it is best installed in front of your AC condenser where it will receive the most direct air flow. A video is included for you. The cooler can be installed with the two connection ports facing in any direction. Another option is to use a pan-style cooler. A pan...

  • Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler Installation on a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban
The Combination Engine Oil and Transmission Cooler you purchased, # D15902, will work great on your 2007 Suburban, provided that there is 2 inches of clearance below the OEM oil filter for installation of the sandwich adapter and installation and removal of the filter and there is room for the oil cooler hose to be routed when the sandwich adapter is installed. • Are Transmission Engine Oil and Power Steering Coolers Needed For Towing with a 2007 Honda Pilot
Since the manufacturer recommends these aftermarket additions for your Pilot, we cannot suggest differently. The thing to remember is that if you do add these items and a warranty issue comes up, you have shown that you took the proper steps to ensure that your vehicle would perform properly so warranty service should not be a question. Another thing to consider is that heat is the enemy of your engine, transmission, and power steering. Using a cooler will dissipate more heat and prolong...

First, if the parts you are looking at elsewhere are OEM or otherwise branded as Honda parts, that is why they cost what they do. Aftermarket parts are almost always at a lower cost. The best transmission cooler you can possibly add is the largest one you have space for. You really can't cool transmission fluid too much. • Value of Installing a Power Steering Cooler on 2005 Honda Odyssey That Will Not be Used to Tow
There is almost always a value in reducing the operating temperatures of the fluids in a vehicle.
