Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2007 Toyota Tundra

This was one of the easiest accessories I’ve installed on my Tundra. It is a front receiver hitch so I don’t use it very often. Mostly just for bike racks when towing a trailer, but when you need it you need it.

by:
2019 Toyota Tundra

These is an excellent hitch at an excellent price. The install was easy and all the hardware that is needed is in the box. I chose the Drawtite over the Curt because the receiver end is a little longer. It' not even noticeable on the truck. I have a snow plow that attaches to the hitch. The Toyota cap shown in the picture was not included. The Tundra is a 2020 so I can confirm if fits.

Hitch has been working as expected. After one year it still looks as good as when I installed it. They use alot of road salt where I live but the hitch has no rust on it.

Straight forward and perfect fit on my 2008 Toyota Tundra!!

The hitch is high quality and fit perfectly on my truck.

It’s a high quality product and I have had no issues with it.

I received my order in 2 days. Installed it 5 days later. Perfect fit. I used my floor jack to raise it into place and installed bolts. I had a technical question about the correct torque value. Called E-Trailer and was promptly answered by Rebecca. She gave me the information I needed and I finished the installation. I haven't tried to use it yet. Very pleased. This is my second order from E-Trailer and I highly recommend them.

We use this with an aluminum rack to haul a Honda 150cc scooter when we go camping. The only negative is how low it is -- ended up buying a 2" riser/extension which made it much more functional. Not really the fault of the hitch, just the reality of the mounting points. If you end up needing a riser make sure you get one with the proper weight rating as some are just made for lightweight bicycle racks.

by:

Very easy to install. Just what I wante d.

by:

We have a truck camper, and needed more room for our camping equipment. Purchased this front hitch from etrailer, and it has been awesome. Have used it to carry our generator, and bought a cargo tray that we use also. Love it! Thanks!

by:

Yes , my 2019 tundra is beach ready and the fishing rods are not broken.... with the front hitch and rod cooler on the front the 4x4 on the beach is that much easier. Yes 3 friends are looking at doing the same setup. I added a flag to remind me there is 3 extra feet in front of the truck when the rods are not in the holders.

2018 Toyota Tundra

Really impressed with how quickly I received the hitch. Thanks!

by:
2021 Toyota Tundra

The product looks well built. The shipping box arrived with some minor damage and chipped some paint that will need some touch up prior to install. Id reco adding a little more protection to prevent this. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and quick shipping and will install this weekend.

2019 Toyota Tundra

Excellent value easy to install and works great.

by:

Great fit and good quality

by:

Hitch worked perfect and thanks for the instructions . My only regret is that I didn't think about drilling a hole in the skid plate myself for changing the oil filter ha! Again thanks hitch work perfect and looks good !

by:

It was easy to install but for the hole saw on the belly pan. It makes dialing in a pontoon in a tight spot a enjoyable process.

by:
Toyota Tundra

Works just as I had hoped. Easy to install, looks good on vehicle. I use it mainly to hold a rod and cooler rack on my Tundra. The bolt and bracket keeps
it from rattling. High quality, good price.

Perfect fit, the front hitch makes moving the boat in a small storage space much easier.

2015 Toyota Tundra

Very heavy Well-built hitch. Fit perfe ct.

by:

Great service product arrived in perfect condition and in short order. Thank you so much

by:

Installation wasn't very difficult. I was very happy to add a hitch to the front of my truck. I installed to be able to put a hitch mounted winch or bike rack. The pictures others have posted how it sits on the truck. I found that it sits to far back from the bumper for my needs. Everything I need to attach needs and extension to clear the bumper. I wouldn't repurchase and install if I knew. The hitch itself is manufactured well and works as expected for a bolt on application.

Thank you for reaching out! I wanted to recommend a hitch extender. I attached a link to our products and there are varying lengths to choose from depending on your needs.

Perfect fit! One year later and the bolts are still tight. I hit a deer recently and am convinced the front hitch minimized damage to my truck. Very useful!

2012 Toyota Tundra

For my 2012 Toyoda Tundra, the installation is very simple and straight forward. Remove the 4 bolts holding the 2 front tow hooks in place. Position the new front hitch between the tow hooks and the frame, then install the 4 new bolts. The hitch is now directly bolted to the truck frame and the tow hooks are still usable.

  • Do Tow Hooks Remain When Installing Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch on 2020 Toyota Tundra
Starting with the tow hooks, those will remain on your 2020 Toyota Tundra when installing the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65080. They will be temporarily removed, but will be bolted back on. In regards to the hole, there is a small hole you will need to enlarge in the skid shield to allow for access to the oil filter. And as for how much hangs down, it will be the crosstube of the hitch. I have added a photo a customer sent in of this hitch installed on their 2020...

  • Comparing Curt and Draw-tite Front Hitch for 2019 Toyota Tundra
The biggest difference between the Curt front hitch part # 31198 and Draw-tite front hitch part # 65080 is that the Draw-tite receiver tube extends out more than the Curt by over an inch. This makes it more visible when nothing is mounted to it. However, it can also help with clearance. When putting an accessory in the hitch there is less of a chance of it coming in contact with the front of your Tundra. Other than that, they aren't much different from each other. They have the same...

  • Is there a Front Receiver Hitch for a 2022 Toyota Tundra?
Yes, we do have a front mount hitch for a 2022 Toyota Tundra. It is the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch item # 65080. This hitch has a 2" x 2" receiver and a 500 lbs vertical load limit.

  • Comparing Curt and Draw Tite Front Hitches for 2018 Toyota Tundra
For your 2018 Toyota Tundra we have the Curt front hitch part # 31198 and the Draw Tite part # 65080 both as a confirmed fit and both really good options. Both install the exact same and have same capacities, but I like the Curt better as it's made in the USA and the Draw Tite is not. I attached a picture that shows the hitch installed for you to check out as well.

  • Can Swagman E-Spec Be Used on Front Mounted Hitch Receiver
It sure can! A hitch on the front of a vehicle, like part # 65080 for your 2008 Toyota Tundra, sits close enough to the front axle that you won't see any significant difference in movement which is why bike rack manufacturers have no stipulations against and you can use the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR in this manner. Just a few things to be mindful of, the bike rack and bikes will see the brunt of the elements during travel since it's at the front of your vehicles, and I would probably avoid...

  • Recommended Method For Moving 7500lb Boat Trailer Around In Tight Space
I have a different option for you, but the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch # 65080 you were looking at for your 2008 Toyota Tundra is only rated for 500lbs tongue weight, so you will not be able to use it to move your 7500lbs boat trailer with 750-850lbs tongue weight. Instead I recommend using a trailer dolly like the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly with Chain Drive # TVXL25 if your trailer uses a 2-5/16" hitch ball, or the # TVXL2 if your trailer uses a 2" hitch ball. These trailer...

  • Is Skid Shield Trimming Required if Door is Present to Access Oil Filter on 2021 Toyota Tundra
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65080 is designed to fit the Toyota Tundra starting with the 2007 model. It is likely that the door for oil filter access you're referencing on your 2021 was added later or is present in certain trim packages so the instructions don't reflect it. As long as you are able to access the oil filter there is no need to cut the 4" hole.

  • Can The Front Mount Trailer Hitch for 2010 Toyota Tundra be Used and Retain the Factory Tow Loops
Yes, when installing the Draw-Tite Front Hitch, # 65080, on the 2010 Toyota Tundra you will reinstall the front tow loops after raising the hitch into position. This will sandwich the hitch between the tow loops and the vehicle frame. I have linked the installation instructions for you to review. The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65080 is my recommendation for you based on cost and features. The installation of this hitch is nearly identical to the Curt # 31198. The Draw-Tite has a measurement of 7-1/2 inches from the crossbar to the end of the receiver tube. The Curt receiver has a measurement of 4-5/8 inches from the crossbar to the end of the receiver tube. The weight ratings of the hitches are identical, so the 2-7/8 inch difference in...

They do have identical specs since they both have a 9,000 pound line pull and 500 pound vertical load. Both have a 2 inch recevier opening. • Will the Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch 65080 Fit a Tundra TRD With a Skid Plate?

Customers have stated that in order to change the oil on a 2012 Toyota Tundra with front mount hitch # 31198 installed they have had to either leave off the skid plate or modify it to avoid having to take it and the hitch off every time the oil needs to be changed.
