Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.
Features:
Specs:
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will have to remove the rear threshold plate to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Jake: Hey guys. Jake here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Tekonsha four pole plug on our 2017 Chevrolet Cruze. This is going to give us the ability to use an four pole auxiliary lighting or trailer lighting. It's going to come out the back of your trunk and be able to plug into your trailer like we have here. Using this four pole connector, we are going to be able to easily see that our brake lights are going to work so other people on the road are going to be able to see us at night and during the day when braking with a small trailer like we have here, you're also going to have running lights along with this other people are going to be able to see where you're turning.
You can see we have our right turn on now and our left turn. So when not using your four pole, what's nice is it gives you this nice rubber cap to protect your terminals. What you can do is you can just tuck it in around your spare tire and then replace your spare tire cover. That way it's out of sight and out of mind. With this kit is going to come a control module, which is going to read the signals coming from your taillight to be able to send it to your trailer lights. It's also going to come with an inline fuse to be able to protect your vehicle. Now that we've gone over some of those features, let's go ahead and pull it in the garage and show you how we got it installed. Now to start the installation you're going to want to remove the felt over top of your spare tire and just set it to the side and you can remove your rear threshold by just pulling up on it.
Yep. Set that to the side and we can take this snap pin out to temporarily move this felt out of our way.Okay. We can pull back and see that we'll be working with this wire right here. Now we'll take a 9/32nd socket, remove this bolt, slide that down and out. Now we have access to the driver's side.
Now if you need a little bit more room to work, you can remove this tab also, and we're going to take our wire that has the two gray connectors on the ends and the brown and yellow wire, going to unplug this plug here. Plug it in the end of our harness and we can plug this plug back in and we'll do the same with the passenger side. It'll just be the green wire. Pull this fabric out of your way. Now, you can take your plug connector, slide your wire into place crimp it down, need to take our positive wire that you we're supplied with, slide it into your plug connector and crimp it.And before we run this black wire to our positive terminal on our battery, we'll want to run this inline fuse with it. You take that, cut it in half, strip both the ends back, and we'll place our plug connector on the end of our black wire, crimp it down and take one end of our fuse line, crimp it down.
Now we can put our ring terminal on the end of our fuse. Good, now we're ready to get it in place. Just make sure when you're making your connection that the fuse is not installed. They do include one but we'll put that in afterwards. Want to make sure you run your wire underneath the felt panel, all round. Set your box over to the side, we'll run this underneath our foam. And then this is where you're going to connect it to your positive terminal. Now we can take this bolt that we have on our positive terminal. Remove that screw in and put our ring terminal on it and replace it. Make sure you tighten that back down. We're going to take our extra positive wire and just tie it up so we don't have a bunch of wire moving around. Just set that to the side. We'll go ahead and take our self tapping screw and install it. And we can take our double sided tape, stick one end to our box here, peel it off, and then just find a safe place to put it. We're going to stick ours right here. Now we can take our fuse. Go ahead and plug it in.Now we'll go ahead and test our lights before we put everything back together, here you'll see our running lights, our left turn signal, our right turn signal and our brakes. Now that we saw that all of our functions are working, we can go ahead and button everything back up.Now once you've got everything tightened back up we can go ahead and take our rubber cap, place it on our terminals and set it in our trunk. With all that being said, that's going to do it for our look and install of the Tekonsha four pole wiring.
